In winter, it is a good position on the way to Spain for one or two nights.
V zime je to dobré stanovisko po ceste do Španielska na jednu, alebo dve noci.

Nice enough spot with good views but, as previous comment, a bit scruffy. We had a cycle ride into the neaby town which was lovely and then on to a great sandy beach. Would have stayed longer to explore a bit more but there were gale force winds that made us feel the van wouldnland in the water!! Not sure if this is a normal occurrence. No noise from the surfers’ bar while we were there but maybe cos it’s out of season at end of September. Would go again if in the area.

Easy to access site close to shore of the Étang de Leucate. Site also used by wind surfers & paddle boarders. The étang is large with sandy, rocky & what looks like dried straw seaweed shore. Good paths accessible around to left & right & pleasant walking territory. Pitches a bit scruffy with a lot of litter on the fringes.

Nearest supermarket is Carrefour on the outskirts of Leucate. A mobile boulanger called onto the site just before 9am with a selection of baguettes & croissants. Shore side wind surfers Bar (with skateboard ramps) - seemed popular & well patronised - playing music until about midnight. Some night noise from the nearby D627 and railway line.

I have seen this Aire several times when driving from Narbonne to Luecate, so I stopped to day to check it out. It is a big site with plenty of room, but a big Moho was having trouble with the barrier (the people, not the barrier) so I couldn't get on. I will definitely stay on this location, whilst being remote it is attractive because of that.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Expensive but a lovely location. 10.80E including services (not electric) out of season. Very accessible for large vans; small ones . Wind surfing and flamingoes on the lake!
Note : the aire at the beach is run by the same people, but the services are turned off in the winter.
