Stayed for one night to be able to visit the memorial. Nice aire, ramps needed in some spots to get level. Playing fields are suitable for dog walking. Didn't use the services but jetons can be purchased from the tourist office which is a short walk away into the village.

Great location. You need to walk to the ruined village which is magnificent and free. Very moving because of the relics in the various houses. You can pay to visit the memorial too which is about €20 but it will tell you all of the key evebts leading up to the massacre. Quiet night. Lots of vans. Felt very safe all night. Get here early (e.g. before 6pm) as it fills up! Vans were still arriving after 9pm but couldn’t stay. Jetons are now €3 - not €2 as advertised.

Fantastic stopover for a really moving experience going around the village. We had 2 problems ,firstly got there on sunday and all shops and bars were closed, so if travelling on sunday make sure you shop in morning or eat early afternoon. We have dogs and they weren’t allowed in the village so had to leave them in van! Aire itself was ok, water and disposal of toilet with washing up facilities. Ok for a one night stop.

Good location for the martyrs village. Deep spaces. All slightly sloping; need chocks. Services but very tired; toilets are poor.

arrived earlyvafternoon. few vans onsite but filled up by late evening. easy walk into þown and the memorial village. decent shops and bars in the new town. aire tired but perfectly useable. toilets open but rough. dishwashing facility and several other vans using this to fill tanks rather than the pay for facility ( tokens available in town and tourist info). chicks almost certainly needed. we managed to get a spot that was only sloping forward and not sideways. would use for convenience to town.

Lovely site but no toilets or running water in January! Toilets sealed off and locked. Only a short walk in to the centre of the town which has everything you need including public toilets. The village of martyrs is really harrowing but is a must. Big hardstanding pitches which give loads of room and privacy.

As the other reviewers have stated, use chocks, toilet ordinary and byo paper. We used the taps by washing sinks to fill up tank, as didn’t have a jeton. If you have mobility issues then drive to the Village Martyrs as it’s a bit of a hike (10 mins if only you’re fit!!) and park just before roundabout as the parking next to site has height barriers. Did the audio tour of museum prior to walking the village, very worthwhile and all very somber and thought provoking.

Set in a semi circle with a distinct leaning one side so ramps needed. The emptying point and toilet were filthy so we didn't use them. A 10 minute walk through town to the abandoned village. Very thought provoking walking through it.

Free aire with toilets. EHU needs jeton. 15 mins walk down through the new village to the old village where the 2nd world war massacre happened - dogs not allowed but entrance is free and well worth visiting. Aire is very busy and some parts need levellers. Some nice restaurants etc in the new village. Pitches overlook football playing field.

Nice aire for stopping over to visit the site of the massacre in Oct 1944. The village is a short distance away and there are some restaurants and bars en route. Hrad standing with quite roomy spaces. Very quiet location and felt very safe.

Good Aire with services and hard standing parking, overlooking football pitches and a park area. The reason for staying here has to be to visit the martyr village, this is a very somber and thought provoking place which should be visited by everyone.

Ideal overnight if visiting the site of the massacre. Water was off when we stayed but it was a quiet place for the night. Quite a walk into the new village for oldies like us!

Well positioned for the village and memorial. Hard standing pitches, on a bit of a wonk, we decided to get the levellers out. The water had been switched off for winter, but we found a working tap next to the loos at a small car park on the left as you drive towards the supermarket from the old village.

A lovely aire, quiet, level camping. Safe, has toilets and facilities/services. There are fields behind for football and boules and great for walking the dog. Town is 2 min walk with a supermarket near by. A very nice aire and it's free with no limit of stay.

Large purpose built aire for about 30 vans on the outskirts of the small town. Nice town with several shops/cafes. Simply supermarket 5 mins up hill. Clean WCs on site and washing up sinks. Service point 2 euros for water, emptying free. Visit the old Martyr Town which is about 10 mins walk from aire (no dogs allowed). Parked overlooking local football pitch but not too noisy.

Roomy aire on the outskirts of Oradour Sur Glane - this French town is of great historical interrest as the old village has been left exactly as it was after the population was massacred by SS troops in WW2.
You can visit the village for free but the museum tells the story and is 9 euros per person - Pay an addition 2 euros for the audio tour tho its worth it. It takes around 15 mins to walk to the museum and village

The aire has all services plus a toilet block. Water is 2 euro - Jeton required, aire is free

Stayed June 2016. Only three other M/Homes here, plenty of room nice and quiet. It does slope somewhat but nothing to worry about. Nice friendly little town. As for the memorial. You have to go to believe it.

Passing nearby we decided to pay our respect at Oraadour Sur Glane. Mans inhumanity is amply illustrated and we were left with a feeling of great loss. The aire offered everything we required and our pitch overlooked open fields. The modern town has plenty of bars and restaurants.

The aires is the opposite end of the village to the deserted village, about a 15 minute walk. If you stop here you must visit this memorial to what happened in WW2. Some things should never be forgotten and this is one of them.

As stated ideal for the martyr village. On our visit the electrics were not working and the toilets in a filthy state. There are cafes nearby for refreshments. After our visit to the museum and village we didn't want to overnight as we felt uncomfortable and a need to leave that sad place. We arrived at midday and there was plenty of space. If you visit you must do the museum first, then when in the village you have an idea what you're looking at. Parking is free.

Confidently placed for a visit to the " martyr village". It's a 15 minute walk to the village, slightly uphill.
The new Village has a couple of cafés/restaurant, post office, bank, pizza place, cake shop.
The Aire is clean, tidy, facilities are good the only criticism was that the disabled toilet was locked. 2 euros for 100 ltrs of water,
Electric is 2 euros for an hour, enough to top up the battery. Get there early, it fills up quickly.
