As said before, this place is crawling with immigrants now. Police are about but not doing a thing, groups of 4 or 5 hagging around on every corner, in the multi storey carpark, whistling signals to each other. Did not feel safe leaving MH while shopping. Its a shame a business will suffer as we where no more than 10 minutes, where as we would of had a good look round. Security guard = More money spent.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Whilst we were in our moho all outside compartments were tried on three separate occassions, as well as all doors each time too. When we challenged a guy going out our rear door with a screw driver he just laughed and walked off. There are now security guards who move any vans/mohos on at approximaltely 10.30pm.

We had an early tunnel booked, therefore we just checked in (about 10hours early) and slept in the area for mohos. This was fine and much safer.

Very unfortunately this is no longer safe for overnight parking due to immigrants breaking into your motorhome even in daylight. We have used it for over 15 years but definately no longer recommended!

Parked up for an hour while my wife went shopping. During the hour a guy tried breaking into our van back window even with me in the van passenger seat. Another guy climbed under a UK van and tried hiding underneath the van until I challenged him. There was a group of 4-6 males watching the MH car park from the multistorey car park, then chancing their luck as soon as the motorhome had been parked 5 mins. As we arrived 2 males were found in a small trailer attached to a UK car.

Well, we just pulled in to overnight and last bit of shopping before getting the tunnel crossing early tomorrow.
about 6/7, travellers have set up camp in caravans, crap everywhere.
Also I have never seen so many migrants looking for easy pickings and making it very obvious, they were everywhere!! we felt very unsafe as they were just hanging around the couple of vans that were there.

Cite Europe is close to the tunnel and is convenient for last minute shopping in Carrefour however the shopping mall looks tired and could do with a refurb. The parking area is now unlit ( there is ambient light from the mall and the eurotunnel complex) and has the added worry of migrants who have been checking out vehicles in broad daylight. I have the prospect of a restless nights sleep worrying about the van.
Woken at 5.50am with 3 migrants checking my garage doors. I had to challange them and sound the van horn, not ideal end to a French holiday. Will not be returning to this overnight stop.

Another good night here. used by very many motorhomes every night of the week. Great for the shops, great for the security the Police HQ brings. 15 minutes from the port, only a few from the train. As good a stop as you will have in any car park. (5th time this year!)

Stay night after tunnel & night before return. Can’t fault it, safe & quiet. Lots of cars here today, must be sleeping in them? Bit of shopping in Carrefour & meal in shopping centre perfectly acceptable. In our opinion better to stay here after crossing & set off on your journey the next morning rather than Folkstone side.

We use Cite Europe regularly as a first stop after Tunnel/Ferry (we have 350 mile drive to Dover!), or, last stop, before Ferry/Tunnel. Reasonably quiet, always feel safe. Large Commercial Centre adjacent with shops etc during opening hours. Approximately 25 vans there on this visit. It is free, so, has to be value for money! 5-10 minutes from Tunnel Terminal.

Have stayed here numerous times both before and after the tunnel crossing. All as before but a new Artisan Boulangerie/Patisserie has opened just up the road opposite the Gendarmerie which was open early in the morning for your fresh bread or croissants etc. Quiet night despite there being 50+ motorhomes parked up.

Basically just a car park. We didn’t overnight here, but used it to park up for shopping (the massive Carrefour hypermarket is just opposite the car park), and to rest up for an afternoon.

Ideal location to stop for a big shop for wine, cheese etc before taking the chunnel. The rest of the car parks at Cite Europe have height barriers. No large spaces, you have to park across two spaces. Entirely free.

ideal stopover.
Basically a big car park next to the shopping centre.

near to police station and also regular patrols through the night.

Agree with previous review. This place is a great overnight stop and we have done it many times. With a shopping centre and restaurants sctoss the road and a McDonalds just fown the road, what more do you want. There were in rxcess of 40 motorhomes when we came over and at least 20 on ourvtrip home. Although the car park lights are turned off, there is plenty of light coming from Euro Tunnel. The Police and Gendarmes patrol all the time and I think this place is safe as any.

DONT PARK HERE ! Yes there were a few police officers walking around and plenty of other vans there but someone cut off our light board and attempted to take our bikes. Having a sleep whilst waiting for our train and I woke hearing a bump thought nothing of it and started to drive to the tunnel. A man stopped us and said our light board was trailing on the floor. On closer inspection the rope had been cut and the rubber stays had been opened on two of the bikes. Luckily we had them chained.

One of our "usual" stop overs either on our way "out", or, home again. We have 350 miles to drive to/from Dover, so, usually take a late evening Tunnel or ferry crossing, sleep at Cite Europe and get an early start next day. This effectively a free car park, alongside a major shopping mall. During opening hours (for Mall) there are toilets, cafes, hypermarkets, etc. There is a service point if needed. Large Police station adjacent, never felt any unease at staying here. Five minutes to Tunnel.

We stayed here for the night on 15/03/18, shops and bars make for a good stop off point for ferry/train. We used the train, unfortunately during the night the lady in the motorhome next to us had to call the police as 2 men were trying to steal here bike from the rear of her van and then she had seen them trying all the windows on our motorhome. Guess just have to be more vigilant.

Third time here. Ideal. Free, quiet, well lit, safe and very handy for either the tunnel or ferry. No facilities but they are available round the corner at the Carrefour fuel station. Just get a token during the day when it's open. It says " Open 24 hrs", but that's for fuel not jets for the bourne. Surrounded by a shopping centre, police station and high wire, high security fence for the tunnel, which is patrolled and camera'd.

A ideal location to stay before or after tunnel/ferry. Location was fairly quiet overnight and felt safe. No facilities besides bins. Handy for a bit of shopping in the morning. Would like them to put in a waste disposal for water as this would be great before the ferry

Basically it's just a car park but in a very handy position for both the Calais ferries and the Channel Tunnel. Because of this it is only to be expected that motorhomes are coming and going all night but I still slept well. The hypermarket and other shops in the mall are very useful for stocking up whether arriving in France or departing for home. There are also a number of cafes/restaurants/bars in the mall, a cinema and a Mcdonalds in walking distance.

First time staying at Cite de Europe and had no issues will definitely use it again 10+ vans already parked up when we arrived 23:00. Well lit if unsure once you approach the site head towards Toys R us and the carpark is near it.

On here tonight all open (22nd) quite a few vans on and it seems quiet enough. Just a carpark as stated earlier but will do for a night stop.

Good stop off point before or after the crossing. More shops than you can shake a stick at! A bit bright at night, but a good, relatively quiet place to stop.

As said very convenient. There are many eating options inside the mall. About 30 vans last Saturday night (24/06/2017), think the previous review was the wrong place, I've never known it closed. A word of warning, the end by the entrance is lined with trees, one had come down in the wind, so stay more to centre. Otherwise good.

Convenient free overnight parking for shopping and the Eurotunnel. We have stayed here several times with no real concerns for safety as there are usually half a dozen or so motorhomes parking up. We usually shop at the more competitive Auchan, either in Calais or Dunkirk, from which this is an easy drive.

April 2017. Used this after a late crossing from the UK to ensure an early start next day. Brilliant quiet spot and toilets etc inside the nearby shopping centre. Well lit at night, and Motorhome service point at Carrefour (Also LPG) We have a Facebook page to record our travels - if you search for Betty Bolero & "like" the page, then scroll down to find photos & write ups for this area if you fancy. The posts get older the further down the page you go, simply carry on until you find the date.

This is the perfect stopover for the Euro tunnel coming or going. There are no services on the car park but there is a service point at the petrol station on the other side of the shopping centre (2 minute drive) for fresh water and dumping waste water etc.

Great stopover if you are using either the tunnel or ferry. Lots of other Motorhome's for company. City Europe is a bit pricey. We did our shopping for both fuel and wine at Auchen and then pitched up. Good for a bite to eat though. Felt very safe and will use it again.

We arrived on a Sunday hoping to do some last minute shopping but, to our surprise, most places in this large complex were shut. The aire itself was an uninspiring tarmac car park with no services. We decided to give it a miss and move closer to Calais

Always stop off here prior to tunnel or ferry - both a short drive. Never had any problems in four years. Gendarmerie at one end Tunnel security at the side. Handy for shops if you need to top up with wine and also 24hr fuel. always Motorhomes here coming and going for early departures/arrivals. Pretty quiet.

Official Motorhome Parking at the rear entrance to the Cite Europe shopping centre. Follow the Aire signs. Been using this on every trip for at least the last 5 years and never any bother. The local Police and Gendarmes drive through a couple of times a night. Never any sign of trouble during the recent other problems in Calais. Handy for your last bit of Carrefor shopping and plenty of food places to eat up to I think 9 pm.

An ideal stop off when coming or going through Calais with supermarket shopping on your door step. Now with the Cite europe Petrol station having a service point, not sure if they charge as I just saw it when driving off.
Have stopped here 4 times before and all good

Just got back today, no problems as always, about 10 of us on there, very windy night.
Just wanted to give heads up, we now have Services!!! on your way to the Tunnel crossing from leaving Aire there is now a Carrefour garage, huge open plan place with full services including grey and black waste.Did not stop to get prices looks like it is newly open, within the Cite Europe grounds. Will make life a lot easier than hunting before crossing.

Arrived here late Saturday evening about 23:00. Very quiet as all shopping traffic had long since left, just 8 motor homes on the large car park. A little noise at the far end as it is next to the entrance road to eurotunnel
but we had a peaceful nights sleep and no sign of any problems at all.

Stay here about 3 times a year for past 8 years, never had a problem or witnessed any problems. Always feel safe/sleep well. We use tunnel on late crossing, sleep here then wake refreshed for good drive next day, perfect location for us. Our other stop over if heading to Germany direction is Bray Dunes around 40mins down road.

Popular stop off point for us to fill up on the way out with provisions or on the way back with wine!
Allegedly safe location to stop over for the night, there is even a Police station right next door - but our own experiences are that we have never felt totally safe and have witnessed the after effects of crime. When we returned to our MH another English couple returned to their car which was parked next to us. The guy was distraught has he had two expensive road bikes stolen from the back of his car despite them being locked on to the towbar.
There are plenty of alternatives within a few km and even felt safer at Sangatte Dunes. Others have however reported no problems.
