Located 30 km south of Limoges, the lovely town of Saint-Hilaire-les-Places welcomes you in a natural paradise. Awarded the ‘Ville Fleurie 4*’ label, it offers many wooded and green areas that will delight hiking lovers.
Lake Plaisance, located right next to the site, has a pond offering a wide range of activities in summer: miniature golf, aquatic slide, diving board, pedal boats, stand-up paddles, supervised swimming, bar… The lake offers all year round an ideal setting for walks and bike rides in the 40 hectares of nature surrounding the ponds. It is also a great fishing spot.
The historic and cultural site of Puycheny offers you a chance to immerse yourself in the traditions of tile-making crafts, with its tile works, the ‘Musée de la Terre’ and its workshop. Learn more about the Puycheny tile works through tours, clay modelling workshops, demonstrations and even several cultural events.
Saint-Hilaire-les-Places has two churches: the one in the old town, a Romanesque church dating back to the 12th century, and the parish church, also located in the town centre. The latter gives access to the Notre-Dame-de-la-Visitation chapel.
The castle of Lastours bears witness to more than 700 years of history. You can visit it in summer when several events are organised. It is located on the ‘Route of Richard the Lionheart’, an itinerary that allows you to discover many tourist sites.
