Souillac is located in the Lot department, in Occitanie. The city is anchored in the heart of the Dordogne valley, very close to Rocamadour, high place of Christendom since the Middle Ages and classified Grand Site of Midi Pyrenees.
Staying in Souillac means being close to many caves, castles, museums and some "most beautiful villages in France".
Souillac sur Dordogne is known as the "city of contrasts" because its environment alternates between river and old stones. It is also the city of 7 viaducts, which reminds us of the presence of many valleys.

Clean well maintained site on the edge of Souillac town centre. All facilities working including wifi. Town is pleasant enough & has a few buildings of interest to pass an hour or so. Main street 10 minutes walk, although a lot of shops are closed down. A few restaurants & bars. Good Leclerc supermarket & fuel station on edge of town. Site a good base for exploring Domme, Beynac et Cazenac & La Roque Gageac.

Well positioned aire for the town. Two supermarkets within a mile. Butcher and Baker in town. Nice walk along the river. The dogs had a great time. Well worth a visit.

Great clean secure site with spacious, well laid out pitches. You do need to be a member of camping car to use this site but you can join at the barrier for €5 (we did) and you are issued with a card there and then that you can top up at sites, online or by phone (it cost €9.61 to stay in Jan). The free wifi was great, we were able to download loads from Netflix. Located next to a small town with a number of shops, a Lidl and a few bars/restaurants. Nice walk along the river. Will use again, great stop on the route south.

Plenty of space, a well kept site with good wifi. The town has plenty of shops etc. A good overnight stop, not far from A20. Cost was €9.01 when we stayed

Very good secure site close to the town. Very quiet at night. The town is pretty but run down & many shops are closed. I had to walk through the town to Lidl to buy bread as I couldn’t find a boulangerie that was open. The musee de l’Automate was very interesting & well worth a visit.

Ok this is run now by camping car parks but it is a very nice site. Payment was 9 euros plus 4 for the card which is a one-off payment. Loads of pitches (48) each with plenty of room. Electricity, fresh water, grey waste and chemical waste available. Please note there are no toilets! Souillac is a lovely town and well worth exploring the abbey and little stress. Site in a nice location and very safe with several other vans in the middle of January.

BEWARE - the exit barrier has no safety cells fitted and as you exit onto a blind single track road you may need to giveway. We had to and barrier came down hitting & damaging our brand new MH. Camping-car totally un interested and three weeks later we still cant get a response despite photos phone calls and emails. In terms of the site its a nice location & short walk into town or the river although in peak season pitches would be very tight and more like airport parking.

This site has been massively updated and is quite a big aire. It is run by Flot Blu Camping Car Parks and requires a card costing an initial e4 as well as the daily rate of e10.70.

Really handy aire for the lovely old town a 5min walk away. Didn't notice a time limit on stay, stayed two very peaceful nights. Got quite busy later in the day. Friday morning is a market day, fresh oyster, mussels, veg and cheese. Really friendly place.

Large free parking area a few minutes walk from the pretty old town with numerous shops, bars, restaurants, museum, churches etc. Flot Bleu service point which must be paid form. Sign says 24 hour parking 2 euros but didn’t see anyone purchasing a ticket and were here two nights. Very spacious aire but can get busy later in the day.

Free aire on the edge of an town near to the river Dordogne. Service point costs E2 if required. Quiet enough overnight. Nice walk along river past adjacent ACSI campsite. Read somewhere about the "must see" Byzantine church in the town but I thought it was pretty average!

The aire is very handy as it's quiet but only a few hundred yards from the centre of this pleasant wee town which has an enormous Byzantine Church - allegedly well worth a visit but apart from its size, it was nothing of special note.

We have used this aire many times over the years. Gets very busy but never had problems. It is a fairly busy town with good shopping there is a lidl and also a laundrette. The services need a credit card to use.

WEll used aire. Big car park basically but great to hire a canoe from. Hint here is to get rent the canoe the night before then you jusmp on minibus and it takes you up river then when you get off you have free entry into Quercyland. Or you did when we did it
