Crowdecote Campsite is a peaceful farm site set deep in the Peak District National Park. This adults-only site is small in size but big on rural views – green fields, trees and hills are all around, and local beauty spots like the river Dove, Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill are all within comfortable walking distance.
Facilities on site are low-key so as not to detract from these peaceful surrounds (essentials like a toilet, running water and a chemical disposal point are all provided). This rural spot is also home to a herd of friendly cattle and their pygmy goat pals Kenny and Dave (all of whom can be seen in fields by the site). Dogs are welcome here, but please keep them on a lead and under control – this is a working farm, after all.
Looking for something to make that view even nicer? A friendly country pub is a short walk away from Crowdecote Campsite. A handy local bus service that runs from Buxton to Ashbourne stops just opposite the pub, so you won't necessarily need a car if you've headed here in search of hill walks. The next village over is Longor (just over a mile away), where there's a café, bar and well-liked local chippy.
