Laguépie is a charming little village situated near the Aveyron gorges. Here, the two rivers Viaur and Aveyron meet and make this « Station Vete » a peninsula. Numerous walks along the water await you, where you won’t miss the remains of the Château Saint-Martin-Laguépie (Lou Viel Castel) overlooking the Viaur valley. Visits are free from mid-July to the end of August. It houses some superb architectural remains and offers a great view of the surroundings.
In July and August, a swimming area (Blue Flag beach - free access) is set up on the river. This is a perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing time by the water, strolling in front of the arcades and ruins of the castle. For fishermen, the river also abounds in beautiful species.
