This is the sort of place you’re always delighted to find & wish to keep to yourselves, but it’s just so good you’ve got to share it. Paul & his family are constantly improving this small fabulous site. Care & attention ooze out of the place. Stayed for 3 nights/gravel pitch/ehu overlooking Derwent Reservoir for £25pn. New for 2019 - 2 wet rooms with toilet/hand basin in each & super hot water. The Boat Shack cafe opens daily (not Mon) serving coffees/beers/meals and ice cream sundaes to die for. The setting is idyllic, can’t fault it. Right on the doorstep of Pow Hill Country Park/Reservoir for walking. Wouldn’t hesitate to return to this spotlessly clean, super site.

A hidden gem. Wonderful views, walks, wildlife etc. Facilities are a little basic perhaps, but clean well maintained and the location can forgive pretty much anything anyway.
The Boat Shack Cafe,. which is run by the same family, is great for breakfast and has an award for the best in the area.
We stayed for only one night while touring but would definitely stay longer and will come again.
