The Buck Inn is a friendly and welcoming village pub located at the heart of the quaint village of Maunby, North Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on our home made modern pub food coupled with an ever changing specials board. Relax and unwind with our fine wines and local cask ales and you have the perfect recipe for a great meal with family and friends.
Character? We’ve got the lot, log burners, open fires and beams along with a nice bit of quirk. It could be said that this is the perfect Sunday Lunch pub. The history of The Buck Inn as a public house is documented in the 1841 census, although there is also some evidence suggesting it was going strong in 1791. You will notice evidence of our proud past scattered about the walls when you visit us. Sure, there’s been some changes over the years but you can always bank on a warm Yorkshire welcome with a good dollop of Buck Inn heritage.
The walls may run deep with history but the food however is certainly up to date. Head chef Will Vernon brings his expertise to the kitchen delivering an eclectic menu. We like to keep our supplier’s local and our cooking fresh, simple as that. We choose the finest cuts from our butcher giving you a great choice in steaks and some amazing burgers. If you haven’t had a Buck Inn Burger yet, then you haven’t truly experienced Yorkshire. Have a look at our sample menus to see the choices on offer – this is enhanced with a number of seasonal specials that are displayed on blackboards in the bar.
We host the village Quiots club, community quizzes, and open mic nights and that’s just for starters! We’re dog friendly and love cyclists, alternatively just relax over a bite, a pint by the fire, or a piping hot brew. Do check out our events page to see just some of the upcoming events we have planned.
So, come and join us for a drink or a meal, you deserve it, we’d love to see you. Wet your whistle with local ales, quaffable wines and freshly ground coffee. Get yourself comfy in a chair by the open fire or a picnic table in the garden. Whatever the season, whatever the weather, enjoy yourself and relax.
We look forward to seeing you soon
