Perfect one night stop over. Great initiative by the Forestry Commission. Lets hope the trial works and more places follow. Lets not spoil it for everyone.

Quiet with pleasant woodland walks. Two morons in a car decided to stay the night leaving a full carrier bag of rubbish when they left. Needless to say I collected the rubbish and disposed of it at the first bin. 5 other motorhomes left no trace.

Another little gem with parking for about 10 vans. Lovely riverside and woodland walks. Parking area filled to capacity when we stopped mid-week. Thank you forestry commision.

Excellent stopover. Free at the moment but if trial is successful will be £5 next year. No facilities but quiet level carpark by the river. Two waymarked walks available. Very popular, at least 12 vans in and near the carpark

Forestry commission Stay the Night scheme in 2020. Park up 1800 to 1000 free just now, though a nominal £5 charge due soon. Quiet and safe location, flat pitches near a beautiful rubber with walks along the banks in both directions from the van. No Services at all, so take everything with you and leave no trace. Ideal for a stop en route from Fort William to Inverness, or as we are doing from Edinburgh to Skye.

Perfect forestry commission car park offering the trial overnight parking great location away from the road so quiet next to a stream level car park off a gravel access lane, the car park was full of motorhomes when we arrived at 6.20 so we parked on the gravel track plenty of space and not blocking any access, foresty vehicles passed us on several occasions, and another smallmotorhome arrived about 10pm and parked behind us. No facilities but a signposted walk from the carpark.

Arrived late afternoon after driving in our medium sized motorhome from Isle of Skye. Thought we were struggling to find it but then saw the Forestry Commission sign. A lovely level sight by the river, a few dogwalkers arriving in cars as it is a beautiful evening. We enjoyed the shorter of two marked trails with our elderly dog. Four motorhomes and a camper so far, with plenty of room for the specified seven. Peaceful in the forest, with chance to see Crossbills and Red Squirrels

We spent last weekend touring around Loch Ness in our Motorhome, planning to make use of the three stay the night sites in the area. Our first stop was at Glengarry but due to its popularity it was too full for us to get in. However it’s location is excellent, nice and peaceful with views along the river which make it popular for canoeing. There are no facilities on the site but we will definitely be using it again as a stopover.

Great place to overnight. No facilities.
Try both Forestry Commission waymarked trails. Look at the information board it gives you a good idea of times and distance. The shorter one takes you through some great trees. The Yellow route takes you up through temperate rainforest, large spuce & cedar to several waterfalls, the largest definitely being worth it. Take a camera.

Absolutely delightful spot next to the river. Which was in full flow as the Loch Garry sluices we’re open. Couple of river/woodland walks from the car park.
Some levelling needed.
Sufficiently far off the main road off a logging track that it’s quiet!
Quite shady.

Nice place to stay overnight, very peacfull night, the site can get busy with cars during the day.
Great walks along the river not too taxing for the elderly (me) with a chance to see Red Squirels.
The entrance to the site is a little steep with a narrow bridge over the river to the carpark

We stopped here for a forest walk but stayed the night on this very quiet and attractive spot. No noise except the background noise of the adjacent river babbling along.
