mature couple, stopped here on way back home and what a nice place it is..
can hear the cars in background but the beauty of the area takes that away..
there are picnic tables and bins on the grass area.we parked opposite the grass area as didn't want to park over car spaces.
fairly level parking.
I didn't know how dark the night can be. wow it's very dark with no street lights.
there is also a toilet block that's open
24hours.i didn't use this so can't comment on them.
if your wanting just nature and a spot of wild camping then we recommend this layby.
good TV and phone signal also..????
would definitely stay here again just for the views..

A tale of two halves-

The interesting: the rats are very athletic-climbing up the rubbish bins, the gents toilet appears to be a dating agency and other m/homers park in some very odd ways. There is a trainline in the valley and a level crossing means regular horn sounding.

The good: new tarmac level surface, well separated from the road by trees. Several bins, picnic tables and well lit toilets. The views across the valley (there is a small info board about it) are just beautiful, wonderful wildlife including a cuckoo, a fox, deer, birds of prey and stunning close ups of a hunting barn owl.
