The perfect stopover! The pub is lovely, great food and ales, landlord (himself a motorhomer) is very friendly and helpful and all with the added bonus of having a really interesting WW2 history. The village of Southwick is small but very pretty with a shop/tea room and another pub just up the road that has occasional live bands on. Had a fabulous time there and can't wait to go back.

Great stop over on way to the ferryport at Portsmouth.
Lovely pub and the owner can’t do enough for you. Free electric hook up, water, grey waste emptying and black waste if you’re careful.
The food there is second to none, we had the fish n chips and the chicken and chips, delicious, simple food done briliantly, loved it. The owners son is the chef we found out later.
There is small brewery museum on site which is interesting and the pub/village has some interesting ww2 history.
Well worth a stop over

Perfect place for some R and R when needing a ferry stopover. Pub grub was a bit pricey for the quality and portion but did the job. Warm and friendly reception and great pint if Guiness! Quiet and level space for motorhome at the back. We will return for sure.

Fantastic find. Beautiful pub great location out of Portsmouth. Fantastic food. Lovely staff. Greg and Tianna make you feel so welcome and can't do enough for you. Toilets open all night. 20 mins to the ferry port. Must call ahead as only 3 spots all with EHU. Don't follow the sat nav. When you come into the village follow the signs for the Brewhouse car park the large pub car park is at the rear. Buy a meal and drinks in the pub out of courtesy after all it is free EHU!!!! Don't be a Scrooge.

We stayed here the night before our ferry to France, close to Portsmouth. Welcoming and friendly landlord and friendly staff. Nice pub which I expect is really cosy in the winter. Toilets left open all night. We sampled the local ales and the food and both were tasty. We took a walk round the village which was quiet with thatched cottages, very picturesque. We may return on our next trip from Portsmouth.

I concur, extremely accomodating and likeable landlord and barstaff lovely place everything you'd need from a stopover and a great village to visit, car park is flat and was extremely quiet over night. We arrived late from the ferry crossing from Santander but were welcomed with open arms, the landlord likes to explain all the facilities, they even leave the toilets open overnight. Would definitely come here again.
Can't comment on food since they weren't serving food on the Monday evening we stayed.

The pub doesnt look much from the front, but go round to the car park at the rear and it all opens out to be a Dr Who Tardis.
We arrived and was immediately met by Greg the Landlord who appeared at our door before we had even undone our seat belts!
He is very pro campers & Motorhomes, offering 24hr toilets, waste water drop and chemical toilet emptying in the loo providing you leave the loo clean. The pub gives an up market look but without any of the pretence. Highly recommended!!
