great stopover, thanks to the local municipality. Walks along pathway to Cap Blanc. Everything closed during our stay here but boulangerie only 10 mins walk on the main road. Promenade along beachfront. Watched para-surfers for a while.

very peaceful night, around 10 vans last night.

What a great place! TomTom sat nav tried to take me through the Channel Tunnel so I used Google to get me here. Lovely and interesting beach 5 mins walk. The pitches are mostly on a slope.

A good stopover. Sangatte seems to be getting investment. Walks into the village and along the coast. The carpark has height barriers, the aire does not so keep left. A lot of people were in the bus bays and had therefore ignored the bus only or no entry signs. If you park in the bays you will probably need levelling side to side. There is however a “hum” which can be heard at night. I think it comes from the tunnel ventilation installation that is maybe 500m behind the aire. Earplugs made it bearable for me.

Brilliant spot for the Eurotunnel. Massive free aire and felt very safe. Will certainly be using this again.

2nd time we have stopped here. Although there are no facilities it is so convenient for the tunnel. Most of the site is a little on the wonk but bearable if your too tired to care! The beach is only a short walk away as is the town (although we have not seen anything in the way of tourism or shops just a couple of restaurants. I don't remember hearing a hum as has been described previously. Overall it was a quiet night, only a few vehicles headed off early, I guess for the early train.

Quiet , pleasant stay. Stayed here for 3 nights in the end. No services except council provided bin bags that were regularly taken away.
Bus to Calais stops just down the road.
Boulangerie closes on. Thursday.
Very handy for the tunnel.
If your sat nav wants to take you to this site via the tunnel, just set it to Sangatte and look for the large car park on the western side of town behind the cemetary.

Great overnight stop for Eurotunnel. Lovely beach nearby. Clean and tidy site with loads of rubbish bags. Park at top and watch the ferries going in and out. Bakery in town 10 minute walk, sadly closed on Thursday when I walked to it in the pouring rain!!

We stayed here prior to heading back to the Chunnel. It was quiet / spacious and clean with rubbish bags on the fences as mentioned below. The beach is only a 5 min walk away, it allows dogs on the beach here too. 15 min drive to the Chunnel. I will use this again. No services.

Some difficulty with co ordinates. Our satnav tells us given co ordinates are 10 miles away whilst we are sat here!! My advice, if approaching from aouth aire is just on entering Sangatte, if approaching from north aire is on leaving Sangatte on D940

FREE. Just 20mins from Calais ferry. No facilities although rubbish bags had been placed along the fencing. Felt safe and police drove through Aire whilst we were there. Combination of gravel and grass, we parked at top of Aire and needed levellers, lower spaces looked more flatter. Leaving village enter through first entrance on left as further on is car park and buses only.

Stopped to just get photos but decided to stay overnight as it was much better than I expected.
Pitches are flat but slope left to right. Very quiet overnight.
Good marked walks around the lake and countryside or just over the road is the large dog friendly beach
Would use again no problem

I thought I would try this new site at Sangatte. GPS co-ordinates listed here are not correct but I know the area and found this easily using google maps. When I arrived at this lovely looking new aire I found that we could not access it as it has height barriers across the entrance so cannot say anymore. What a pity!
Note from admin: we have visited and coordinates are spot on and you can park there the first entrance has no height barriers

Ignore previous review there are no height barriers for the MH Aire only the car park. Easily found to the right of the cemetery no MH sign only parking sign. 2 restaurants close by, baker 1km towards Calais on D940. Good views over channel and just over road to beach.
