|This CAMPING CAR PARK site offers 35 pitches, a few steps only from the wonderful Castle of Villandy and its sumptuous gardens.|
Villandry was the last of the great Renaissance castles to be built on the banks of the Loire River.
The inside of this 18th Century castle was recently fully restored.
A 21 km bicycle path by the Loire leads you from Villandry (Tourangelle railway station) to Tours.
Consider making a quick stopover on the Savonnière port to discover the "batellerie renaissante" (inland water shipping old companies) and admire the vineyards along the way: four of them are part of “La route des vignobles” (Wine route) and, finally, discover the Val de Loire region (listed as a UNESCO world heritage)

Staying early Aug, arrived late afternoon & relieved to find there was still plenty of spaces. Agree with previous review some spots do need the bushes tidying up, but no issues with services. Entry was simple as I already had the card. On exit there was an issue with the barrier, but after a phone call to the english speaking operator the issue was resolved quickly. Lovely little village, with chateaux & gardens, I was lucky enough to arrive on the day they had fireworks in the evening, which was worth the visit.View all reviews by jpearce6
A good location and good facilities. The card machine worked well. It is a pity that the site is not well maintained. Grass and bushes are overgrown and several trees are dead or dying. If nothing is done the pitches will soon disappear under a carpet of weeds.View all reviews by sailingpikes
Lovely and quite (us and 7 other mohos). We already had the necessary camping card, so entry was no issue. We did however witness another van spend time at the barrier then reverse and drive away. Too late in the day to vist the chateau, but it looks great from outside the grounds.View all reviews by angelal
Found this in December en route to Bordeaux and our final destination, Spain. Nice, clean aire in a lovelt quiet location close to a little village but we were late arriving and had to set off early so no time to explore, sadly. Felt safe, secure and it was well maintained with electric, water, waste - comolete moho service point and all we needed for a stop over. No trouble sorting the pass for access either! Highly recommend and 14 EUROS well spent.View all reviews by themeadies
This is a perfect Aire for Chateau Villandry.View all reviews by purpledragon
You do need a Campingcar park card to access the site which are available at the machine at the entrance. Once you have the card you can load it up with credit which you can use at this and any of the other 150 sites in this group. When you have the card just put it against the sensor on the entrance machine (with or without credit on it you can pay on the way out) and the barriers will let you in. This site has water, electric, free wifi all included.
Unable to use this site as unable to purchase a card at the machine, spoke with a local inside who said there hadnt been any cards available for some time.View all reviews by mollymolly
Will not return, it took us over 20 minutes to go through the procedure to buy a camping car card , this venue used to be free with services at €2 it is now €13.66 Euro plus a €4 charge for the card, at €17.66 Euro this aire is well overpriced , ACSI camping sites are cheaper , the one we have just travelled from was €17 per night with and indoor pool! In addition the card wouldn’t work first time and I ended up making an international phone call for assistance. I’m not impressed , can you tell?View all reviews by stsxt05
