Stayed 14th & 15th June with 2 or 3 others, no sign of police or GNR very few cars in carpark either but this was an extended portuguese bank holiday and the island with its beaches were very busy so we kept away from the crowds due to the Covid situation by staying close to the parking area. Nice views of 5he estuary and many birds.

What a fabulous place. Sunset over wetlands just amazing. Well defined pitches. Very clean. Everyone seems very respectful to others. There are a lot of Motorhomers here. Super for dogs given the walks over boardwalks. . Bus at end into faro. Never ceased to be amazed on our first European trip how these places are kept up so well and for free. Only four planes gone over which is a shame as was hoping to take advantage of position right next to airport to do some photography. But for those wanting peace and tranquility probably a good thing. Easily cyclable to the island for restaurants

Spent another night here in December with dozens of other motorhomes, although still plenty of room for more. As the weather was stormy and wet it was a good spot and pretty well drained on the gravelly surface. Not much noise from planes overhead. Good stopover for a night or two.

Good spot. Very large car park. Plenty of room for any size van. Several other vans. Stayed a Thu Dec night. No probs. Lovely wetland walk other side of roundabout. Lovely views of river and Faro island one way. The airport runway the other. Plane spotters heaven. No night flights so very peacefull. Services and cafes across 3.5t bridge. Recommended.

Large sandy carpark right next to the runway. No services. Planes stop around 10pm and resume around 6am. Would have been a great ovetnight stop but we were disturbed at 3am by someone attempting to steal out bikes. Thank goodness they were alarmed.

No shortage of space as the car park is huge and probably a last resort if you’re struggling for somewhere to stop because there really is nothing here. Its also very noisy as you are right by the run way and at night the locals take great delight in driving between vans doing wheel spins and playing loud music. Not one of our best over night stops.

Huge free parking area just before the bridge over to Praia de Faro. This area seems to be mainly for motorhomes staying overnight as there is nothing else around. It is right next to the airport, so planes taking off overhead but not a huge problem. There are bars, cafes etc over the bridge at Praia de Faro which you can access on foot or in the van although the latter part of the bridge has a 3.5t weight limit. There is also water, WCs and emptying over the bridge.

This is a large sandy carpark at the end of the runway, in March planes were a couple every hour and none overnight so not too noisy. Nice view across the Ria Formosa and a lovely walk over the bridge to the village. There was a car which did a few speedies round the carpark in the evening but didn’t bother us. There were about thirty vans on our second night but otherwise the car park is very quiet. There are no services but if you drive over the bridge it is possible to empty and fill.

It's a large park and FREE and there were around 20 motor homes there at any given time. It is right outside the city walls, so great access. Cobbled streets inside the city and a lovely marina.

Great location lovely views. Along side of the airport but no bother with noise.Walking and cycling along the broad walk is great. If you stay at this site please take your litter with you as there are only small bins and the man who comes to collect the rubbish only has a small hand cart.
