Great spot for a day trip.View all reviews by SimonMorley
Campers and motorhomes are now being directed into a field next to the tarmac carpark. I actually prefer this.
Free for NT members.
Expore the sand dunes and sandy beach aswell as exporing the wooded aread. Their are red squirrels in this area aswell.
Barriers now up on main car park 2.3 metres. And also gone into winter parking times 9 till 3 all closed after then had a lot of ASB latelyView all reviews by Macca1954
I live down the road from here and was there yesterday. They have added height barriers as so many people have been overnighting. The barriers are open whilst the NT staff are on site which is normally 9-5 everyday which now restricts MH access between these times. the whole area is beautiful and still worth a visit for a day out.View all reviews by katielawson2209
I am NT member so free to park or £7.50 if not.
£7.50 a day to park if not a member so not too bad if going to spend all day here. Nice walk along the beach or woods. No overnight now. Shame.View all reviews by patio
Great place to stop overnight; quiet carpark after 6pm; no charge from 6pm - 10am; no facilities; lots of walks in the woods or on beach; squirrel walk not too far (go early before kids and dogs scare them off - the rangers feed them at 9am). Will stop here again.View all reviews by Smurf60

It was just lovely, nice setting, just through dunes to beach. Red squirrels in the woods behind, nice sunsets and only a 5-10 min walk to co-op, chip shop, etc, etc,View all reviews by p2xon

Another adventure wild camping in the beautiful Formby...woods one side, sand dunes & beach the other.View all reviews by massey
Wheel chair & buggy accessible. Can walk into town (red squirrel walk through the woods quickest route) there's a waitrose, plenty of pubs, eateries & a laundrette. Train station is this side of town.
Cost us £4.50 to enter as national trust at entrance but if you read reviews on s4s can be free at certain times ⛱
Lovely place, lots of parking, some picnic tables in some area and no height restrictions. Normally run by the local council so chargeable but we were lucky as the national trust was manning it for a month and was doing free parking. One other motorhome and lots of dog walkers but you could walk up over the sand dunes to a beach, Very quiet.View all reviews by marleytops
