Part of the parking had been closed because the ground was saturated after the recent rains but apart from that it was great, free electric, free water and waste disposal and wine! Easy walking distance to the town which is a nice place

didn't stop as it was very muddy because of the bad weather we've had. but I would imagine it's lovely when the weather is dry. it's €10 to stay in winter. not sure of price in summer. free if you spend €50 on wine.

Tremendous stopover in vinyard amongst the grapes. Good pitches with access to water and electricity, with waste and toilet emptying behind the chateau. Town close enough to walk, as you go spend hour or so around the free citadel, with bars resturants and shops. Saturday market really good especially fresh fish and vegatables. One of our best stops in france.

Stunning location. Free of charge. 25 spaces., ehu provided. There is a wine tasting at 5.30pm, they ring a bell, but for some reason they didn't let us in? Therefore, can't tell you about the wines! A fabulous stopover but wish they explained better what was on offer there as nothing was in English, so couldn't participate

Would have given this place full marks except we were asked to leave our pitch at 9.00am as someone had booked it for the next day.
Gave us only 10 mins to leave or fine another pitch so didnt get the chance to buy wine.
Offered a very large glass ofwine with Cassis for a free aperative which was very nice.
Would go again. Citadel in town lovely to walk around and only 10 min walk away.

Loved this stop, probably one of our favourites on this trip. You can stay for two nights for free, water, EHU, toilets appear to be open from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. No one forcing you to buy wine but we did buy two bottles for €15. The town of Blaye is walking distance from the Château and is lovely too. We stayed here enroute to the Arcachon Bassin and would stay again next time we are passing that way.

Great two nights spent here. Very friendly and hospitable. Wine farm with free water and hook up and services for disposal. The water was farm water so had a funny taste but fine for the tank and showering. Short walk to town and the fortress. Nice wine shop to buy the local produce.

A lovely, peaceful aire with free hook-up, water, toilets and waste disposal at certain times of the day. We were disappointed by our welcome as the girl seemed very stressed and also awkward about booking a tour for us the next day. However this improved later when she invited us for an aperitif with the owner and other motorhomers. We also had a short private tasting the next morning before choosing some wine. Blaye is a lovely town where we enjoyed a delicious 3 course lunch for €12 at the Marina.

Great stopover. Why would anyone squeeze into the unserviced Aire at the citadel when this facility is only a short distance away. Agree with all the previous posters. Staff friendly and helpful but busy.

Entry to motorhome parking closed and locked. Don't know why. So we have stopped in the visitors parking for the night.

What a fabulous place to stay. Lovely setting and not too far from the town and citadel. Such a warm welcome. Free services though the water is off until April. Electric available for a small charge though I believe if you buy some wine they don’t charge for the electricity. There is no obligation to purchase.

Lovely location, we had a nice spot next to the pond and near the vines. Nice wine tasting (4€) and we bought a box of 6 of one type. Offers triis in to town on horse drawn carraige and vineyard tour but we had missed it that day and were off in the morning. 15 min walk in to Blaye. All facilities free

Lovely quiet site and FREE. Not all pitches have EHU, but most do. There is a motorhome service point. You park in between the grape vines, it really is pretty. I would highly recommend. They do wine tasting and horse drawn carriage rides for a small fee.

As before, beautiful place to stay. The staff are quite relaxed and no heavy sale pitch for wine tour (we had to ask!) we bought 6 bottles so they had their cash from us. The town of Blaye should also be on the hitlist. Impressive Citadel and bars. Stunning

Beautiful site, free with electricity and water. Only one water tap was working during our stay. The actual service point was roped off as out of use. There are toilets on site. Definitely recommend for a peaceful stay, only a short walk to town and the Citadel Vauban. Frogs chorus at night was amazing.

Electricity was on when we visited but no water fill up available. We were offered drinking water by the owner though. Nice walk into nearby town.

We found the same situation as the previous reviewer. Stayed here over night, but cold. Thank god we've got 2 full gas bottles! Very quiet and peaceful. Supermarkets were visited before we got on site, but the site is beautiful.

Lovely stop but worth noting that the vineyard closes down at the end of October. We were allowed to stay but there was no opportunity to try the wine or take a tour and the EHU was disconnected for the winter and it was well below freezing last night!

The most fantastic find . Free for 48 hours with EHU. Lovely people invite you for an aperitif on your first night and talk about the Chateau and the surrounding area . So fabulous. In my top 5 after travelling almost 3 months through Europe . pleasant town a short walk away . Great cycle rides and a ferry to another town well worth a visit . Absolutely no pressure to buy wine however we did as it was exceptionally and also free site with EHU come on just do the right thing .

This site is a little gem, parking is in the grounds of the Chateau and amongst vine groves. Ehu Is free if you are lucky enough to get it. We were not, but it didn't matter, we were only staying one night. There is a free coach and horses ride Iinto Blaye, which is a walled town. or 20 minute walk.
Site is well worth a visit but fills up quickly.

Stayed here twice now. FREE stay for 2 nights, including hook up at in the beautiful grounds of a working vineyard. Walking distance from the town and the citadel. Peaceful location where you can enjoy a vineyard tour or take a ride in the horse drawn carriage, both run by the vineyard but are entirely optional.
