Stayed last night for a break on our way to South Wales.
A very warm welcome again from locals, staff, owners and fellow motorhomes.
A beautiful lake 5mins walk, perfect to take our dogs for a stroll before our evening meal.
Food beautiful as always, good selection of beers and Gin.
One of our favourite stopovers..
Very dog friendly, lovely sheltered beer garden at the back too.

Stayed overnight on Saturday recently, on our way to Wales. Made to feel very welcome, despite our noisy terrier. Felt safe in their secure area with 4 others. Food was delicious. Had their special chicken burger and chips which even came with a big pot of mac n cheese on the side, which fed us for lunch the next day. Nice dog walk around the lake and small town 5 mins stroll from the pub. Will definitely return. NB rating on view low only because area next to industrial unit but this wouldn't deter us from coming back.

Just stayed as a couple. Lovely friendly place with cracking reasonably priced food (the steak pie was excellent, with plenty of gravy, getting hungry thinking about it). Butty Bach on draught with 2 other real ales plus lots of other beer and gin choices.

As staying in the secure car park is free I don't think it's fair to rate the view as if it had been paid for. If you like industrial areas you'll love it!

Highly recommended and we'll be back.

Excellent venue with all the main facilities apart from EHU. We were staying for the New Year event at the pub and it was excellent. The food at the pub was cracking with the best pub Sunday Lunch I have ever eaten. The beef was to die for, thick slices and melt in the mouth and very generous portions. The licensee Wayne and his good lady Chrissie are very welcoming as were all their staff. We are already going back in March for another couple of nights.

Super friendly, dog friendly pub. Wayne & Chrissie run a true MoHo friendly pub with great food, generously portioned.
Near-level parking for around 20 vehicles with dedicated MoHo area.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely oldy worldy pub on the edge of the village (only a few minutes walk away). Warm welcome and a printed information pack on arrival. Gravel carpark; dedicated barriered and padlocked area for mohos. Good value pub grub; we had two lovely steaks. Wayne made an effort to come out from the kitchen and speak with us and the rest of the staff were very friendly too. Facilities to empty cassette via manhole. Water available. Call ahead cause apparently they are often full. What’s not to love????????

Great pub stop over. Wayne and his wife run a great local pub and have friendly staff and are very dog friendly. There is good pub food and a vegan menu if required. The motorhome parking bays are behind a locked barrier for extra sucurity and whilst not scenic it is flat and tidy. The town is a five minute walk away and the lake is well worth a walk around. We will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

Warm welcome from Wayne, shown to level parking area. Not the prettiest & a little noise during business hours but head to the pub and enjoy! Whether it is the 3 well kept cask ales or a cider or any of the other drinks - the staff will be happy to serve you. Look out for the meal deals eg fish, chips and a pint £8 on Friday or choose from the specials or varied menu. You will not be disappointed great food, well prepared, hot, generous portions. Short walk to town with co-op / local shops/ park

Our 2nd stop at this lovely pub in Newent. Once again a warm welcome from Wayne & Chris. This time we had the Fish & Chips and a Pint for £8.00 in the pub garden. Only 3 vans there on the Friday night but can get very busy to ring ahead. Will definitely return here if we are in the Gloucestershire area again this made an excellent stopover between Oxfordshire and South Wales.

We were the only ones staying on a Sunday night last month. Decent local's pub with friendly and helpful owners and customers. Didn't eat as sadly the full menu not available on a Sunday evening and thought Wayne deserved a rest after a busy Sunday lunch service. Good selection of well-kept beers. Short walk into town and the lake.

Stopped here for the weekend to attend the annual Onion Fayre which was much better than we anticipated.
Very friendly welcome from the landlord Wayne who is also a motorhome owner. Pub is a traditional pub and not part of a huge chain and offers a simple menu but large portions and served hot by the friendly staff.
The village is 5 mins walk away and the lake is worth a detour. Would recommend this as a stopover if in the area.

Stayed overnight and had dinner with friends. Good flat parking area behind secure barrier with a couple of picnic benches. Not much of a view and the nearby industrial estate is active in business hours. Large portions of good food and wide range of ciders plus 3 ales and the usual others. Efficient booking in, and great welcome from the bar staff. Newent is a nice town, good walk around the lake and a co-op 10mins from the pub for groceries. Will be back.

Our first stopover at the King's Arms. A nice motorhome parking area. Excellent, good value food, good beer, and a nice atmosphere in the pub. We only walked far enough to pick up some shopping for our onward journey, but Newent seems like a nice little town. We will be back.

Very welcoming, comfortable and truly magnificent food!

So nice we stayed an extra day and walked around the village and lake which is well worth a visit.

Highly recommended to anyone travelling this way.

One bit of advice, when taking the Newent turn-off from the M50 northbound keep your speed down as its a 90 degree corner.

Great, purpose built, secure stopover provided by the very friendly owners, the view is not great as there is a small industrial estate to the rear, but a good facility nevertheless. The food and drink we had was good and there was a wide selection of beers. The pleasant town centre of Newent is 5 minutes walk and there is lake which is worth a visit too. Would definitely return.

Free pub stopover just off the main road into Newent from the M50/Ross-on-Wye direction. Water/cassette emptying available. Parking to rear of pub in barriered motorhome only area. Friendly landlord who has lots of information on local walks/things to do. Town & /lake about 2-3 mins walk, with Co-op, Nisa and local shops/market stalls. Great food with daily special of meal+pint for £8 including curry night, burger night, pie night and fish & chips.

Very welcoming, friendly busy pub. Unfortunately it was so busy there was no room for us in the main part of the pub so we had to sit out the back on our own! Shame cos the main lounge was buzzing and had a roaring fire going. I could only describe the food as ordinary but, having said that, we had the Friday special of fish and chips plus a drink for £8 - can’t complain at that. Car park a bit rough but flat with water and waste available.

Stayed here for 1 night on way to Coast. Rang ahead to check availability and book a table. Owners were very helpful and friendly. We arrived to a warm welcome by the owners, plus they had the open fire going so that was a plus. As it was a Thursday night my husband had the Big Burger and pint special for £8, which went down very well. We parked at the end of the car park at the rear of pub which when empty was relatively quiet. Some road noise but not enough to disturb your sleep. Recommended.

Stayed for Fri & sat nights with friends, room for all 4 of our vans. Landlord and landlady (and other staff) all very friendly. A busy pub with good food, well priced, went in for 2 evening meals and saturday lunch! Even the dog was welcome. A lovely little town with plenty to explore. Best to leave before sunday lunch as car park gets very busy then.

Made to feel very welcome by staff and locals. The meals were brilliantly cooked and presented, very hot and delicious. Good prices, the puddings were amazing! Not poncy food, just good home cooked food! The fact the pub is always busy speaks for itself. Children anD dogs welcome. The camping was secluded and quiet. The landlord gave us good advice on walks in the area and was knowledgeable. The pub has good atmosphere and we will be definitely going back again and again! Well done.

Superb value at this friendly pub. The new owners are keen to please and have lots of schemes and ideas to bring in trade. Helpings are huge and the pie I had was maybe the best I ever tasted. Parking is tucked round behind the pub away from the road. Newent is a nice little town that is worth a look.
