Free to stay with no requirement to spend in the pub. We did, however, as we support local businesses.

Great pub stop about 6 miles from Harrogate. Large level car park, very friendly owners and excellent food and drink so welcoming after a good walk.
Harrogate Link footpath runs through the car park with access to Beavers Dyke reservoirs towards Harrogate and opposite the pub through woods down to Swinsty (3 mile walk around) & Fewston (5 mile walk around) reservoirs.

Couple with small campervan. 'Phoned ahead on a hot day expecting a popular spot and to make sure parking up/visiting the pub would be OK - esp. with current situation. Was reassured it would be OK. Arrival about 7.30pm & found the top part of the carpark as from previous reviews heard that this was the designated spot for campers/motorhomes. Plenty of space. Fairly level and gravelly, had no problems with finding a comfortable area to park. Had a few drinks and a meal at the pub - excellent value for money and very tasty veggie burgers. Checked menu beforehand. Friendly staff, flexible hours at the moment, good social distancing in operation. Excellent place. Good for Swinsty Reservoir too.

great pub stopover..top part of carpark is level and a bit mucky in the wet. Lovely real fire pub with good honest food and prices. Car park was busy with reservoir walkers during the afternoon after xmas when we arrived but quietened off at night. Peaceful night just with the odd passing car. Views over moorland.
No facilities seen.

Having lived in the area years ago and on route to the motor home show in harrogate thought i would stop the night. Lovely pub, great beer, nice people but after checking my bill for food i find we had been surcharged 20% extra to the pub prices which due to not noticing we paid. A very sharp practice indeed, therefore i will give this place a low score

Great place to stay, staff friendly and when I asked if we could stay it was no problem and no presure to eat or drink. We did of course and very nice it was, best homemade onions rings ever, fresh veg cooked well not soft and a lovely steak, good value too. Over road is path that takes you to Swinsty Reservoir though woods. Sat eating breakfast watching a hare, kites and buzzards. Level gravel car park but a little road noise. Even better if chips were from fresh potatoes and home made yorkies!
