A great overnight spot but it does get very busy. We arrived at about 3pm and it was full by 6pm! No services apart from bins. 2 minute walk to the UNESCO citadel and located right in the town. Would definately use again.

Nice spot overlooking the water with boats going past, although some park too close to the entrance just to get a clear view of the water but in doing so make it difficult to enter and exit!
We had a nice pizza from a pizza shop on the main road.

Close to the water, with bars and restaurants a momet away.

There seems to be a grey water drain, but no water taps of any sort.

Pleasant location, which was very busy by 3pm in mid October.

Gorgeous aire in the port with a backdrop of the Citadel - all for €3 - no service's but well worth a visit - restaurants and bars all around - and as I'm typing a free concert in front of us- busy enough in Early June - so get there early!

The estuary with the Vauban citadel is well worth a visit. The parking area is right on the estuary, and there are splendid views of the river from the citadel heights. Car parking is plentiful but, during fetes and on market day cars take up mh spaces. We returned for a second visit a few days later. The ticket machine doesn’t work so that mh parking is free. Enter the area from the further entry near the river. We shall return during the summer.

A positive bargain of a place to stay (CB machine working). Right under the walls of the citadel, which is huge. Blaye is an interesting town in itself with lots going on. And then there is the river, the ferries and buses all around the countryside. The access is tricky, the turn onto the access road looks at first as if you are heading for height barriered parking then a no entry, but it keeps swinging left down a small rough road to the dedicated parking. Pity there isn't a service point

A simple carpark reserved for Motorhomes trailers allowed no services on the park toilets nearby but local bars are more conducive than the automatic cleaning one - ticket machine 3€ cash a night when it works so we only paid for one night of the two we were there some French object to paying and superglued the machines coin slot. Blaye is beautiful has a huge market on Saturdays so best to arrive Friday lunch to get a space !! in high season Recommend the little train around the area

Machine broken when we were there but it never looked as if had worked as they hadnt finished off the waste water. Citadel worth a look as is the estuary, however the town is best described as a complete dump, but if you dont walk in there you wouldnt know

Lovely place. Next to the Vauban citadel which is free to enter and wander round. The night we were there was a free concert / film show with bar and food stalls. The town looks nice from the aire and if you stay on the frontage it is, but exploring the back streets is a bit grim.
There's a ferry that runs across the Gironde to the Medoc wine region which is gorgeous.

Car Park for motorhomes on opposite side of river from ferry port. 3 euros but machine was out of order so free at time of visit. Very packed and parking close together but close to the town and citadel. No services.

A level, dedicated MH area for 3 Euro, payable at a machine. No services but near to the battlements which are free to look around and worth a visit. Dogs were allowed off leash around the battlements at this time of year. It is on the Gironde Estuary, which is the largest in Europe, although there is no immediate access to the banks if further exploration is fancied. There’s a pub opposite and the town is nearby. All in all, a decent one night stopover

Great place to stop and a visit to the citadel adjoining the aire is a must, it's free to walk around and very impressive. However, there are no services and it is no longer a free aire. It is 3€ to stop overnight though still free in the daytime. There is an excellent boulangerie on the main road and other shops and cafes within walking distance.

Lovely spot for watching the boats coming too and fro, crabbing from harbour wall, walks around citadel with bustling town next to you. Does get busy especially in August but quite a few spaces around 11.30am. Was free but new barriers being installed and what looked like pay and display metres going up, possibly for next year.
