Brilliant stop over. VERY covid secure no indoor access for drinking and eating but will bring food to your van if weather cold. Didn't realise till too late bus stop just on the road into Llangollen. Good food and dog friendly, just don't feed theirs she wears collar telling you not to as she has numerous allergies.

Stopped here mid-week and had a lovely meal. Had to eat outside because of covid, fine on a sunny warm evening but they did say we could eat in our van, which would be gd as it gets cooler. You need to book in advance, we just rang in the morning which was fine. Nice walk along the canal to see the aqueduct.
Couldn't rate facilities as at present there isn't any!
Would definitely stop again.

Firstly, you need to book during these covid times. Paul and Katy run a very tight, professional yet very friendly pub! Its superb, food and beer are fantastic and theres a great choice. Only 5 pitches at the minute hence the need to book but do so and you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Great Pub stop over. All staff and the owner very friendly. Extremely well organised and thoughful in dealing with the current Covid situation, we felt very comfortable, currently only using the outdoor spaces. All the staff are working very hard to ensure everyone is safe. Great pub food, safe space for motorhome / campervan parking. Ring to ensure space as popular. Lovely walk into Llangollen or to the viaduct from across the road. Dog friendly pub. Thank you. We will certainly be back.

Great weekend stay at The Sun Trevor.
Excellent location near canal between Llangollen and Pontcysyllte Aquaduct.
Gated area for motorhome parking.
Excellent hospitality with great food especially the steak pie. Tables set up outside under cover to comply with social dustancing.
Thank you we will be back.

What a great spot, room at back of pub for 5 Motorhomes behind a gate, Paul & his staff are very welcoming, and they did a great job during Covid 19, the food is fresh and reasonably priced, ideally to walk or cycle to Llangollen 1.3/4 miles and 2.1/2 miles to the Pontcysyllte viaduct, both along the canal towpath

Very friendly pub operating under difficult circumstances due to the virus. Landlord brilliant. Queue at the door where name and contact details taken. We phoned ahead (advisable), there is space for 4 vans at the moment and all spaces were taken when we were there. Food really good as were the staff. No charge for pitch if you eat there. Views over the canal. Peaceful night. Offered water before we left but didn't need to fill up. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great pub stop, really friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Stayed 2 nights, and ate both nights in pub. Food was good value and large portions. great location, lovely walks along the canal. Currently space for 5 motorhomes in separate part of car park, so really quiet. Would recommend ringing ahead as it was full when we visited and clearly a popular stop.

Stayed here 1 night 16th febuary was a bit tight as our van is 8.7m and the approach is on a incline ,but as we where the only one there so managed quite well , there are currently some renovations going on whice didn’t interupt us . The view is excellent , it was unfourtnate that there was a storm when we stopped, but the food made up for it as it was excellent . Best wishes to the owners as they had recently taken over .

2nd visit to this pub but it won't be the last.
This time we tried the onion rings and they were fantastic (but probably not very healthy)

Will be back in 2020.

Fantastic pub stop. Paul is an excellent landlord who, together with his wife and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome. Great beer (or so my husband tells me), super food, ace latte, roaring log fire and a smashing canal to walk across the road to walk the dog.

Just spent one night here (November 2019). All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was good and the pub was totally dog friendly. Spent a lovely evening in front of a roaring open fire. There is some building work going on (holiday cottage I think), but nothing to impact on a good night's sleep. Lovely easy walk along the canal across from the pub as far as the town.

Friendly staff, food fairly good too.
They love dogs and provided treats, water, even a rug for them to lie on
Landlords plan to add EHU next year
Canal just the other side of the road with access to the towpath.

We’ve just had such a lovely evening. This was our first time staying at a motorhome pub park in our new Motorhome and we’ve loved it. Surely this is what its all about! Paul and Katie are lovely and made us very welcome. We had good food and a few to many goods pints along with a great conversation with Paul. I would highly recommend the Sun Trevor. Lovely scenary right next to the canal. No charge for staying, just buy some drinks and food. Brilliant! ????

We emailed to book a place, confirmed straight away. We were met by owner who showed us where to park, had a lovely walk down canal path. We went into bar for a drink & food, we felt welcome by staff & locals straight away, enjoyed a lovely meal & nice evening in the bar.
The owners seem to be working hard to encourage Motorhomes.
Would definitely return.

well unfortunately, our experience was not good after booking in for 2 nights with 2 motorhomes as agreed with the owner we have a meal in the pub on the 1st night going back to the motorhome the owner came screaming to get off his land! We explained we had booked & we couldn't leave as we had spend over a £100 in his pub eating and drinking, but would move in the morning, he did apologise and brought the men a drink but the experience was very upsetting and hasten to add we left in the morning

Loved our stopover and particularly enjoyed the Sunday roast. Good food at a reasonable price served by a very friendly team on the bar and in the restaurant. A family run establishment and one that we will definitely return to when next in the area.

Fantastic Pub Stop. Llangollen canal just in front of Pub. Felt secure! Paul the Landlord, a MHer himself has improvements to facilities in pipeline like shower block and EHU plus additional parking. Paul and his Wife have a wealth of infomation of the area, so if you need to know anything just ask! Food is lovely and plentyful! Walking, aquaduct one way along canal, Llangollen the other for flat walks, Offas Dyke path for the hills. Shopping in Llangollen a fairly new Aldi and Home Bargains on main A5 just on the outskirts. Steam Railway and great walks. We will be back, impressed and great hosts!

We stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of March.

We were drawn to it from the reviews on this website, and we were very pleased we stopped here.
The parking area will probably accommodate 5 vans, we are 7.5m and had no problem maneuvering.
(ramps are needed)
The pub is located about 40 mins walk from Llangollen along a nice canal towpath.
The food in our opinion was a notch above your typical "pub grub", and was priced fairly.
Can't wait to return, if only to try the Onion rings
Thanks

Stayed here for two nights in February, large gated car park to the rear of The Sun.
Good doggy pub with very welcoming staff, serving lovely food. Two nice walks along the canal either into Llangollen or to the Aquaduct.
Although you are next to a road the noise from the traffic below is hardly noticeable. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

This was one of our first pub stopovers, in a hired van. The Sun Trevor is easy to find with a fantastic view across the valley. We and our dogs received a warm welcome from the staff, had a drink and then returned for dinner. The ethos of this pub is so laid back - nothing is a problem! There was an eclectic mix of clients that evening and the staff kept everyone happy. Food was copious and good, followed by a peaceful night’s sleep.

A gated area marked out for five MHs, it slopes in two directions so take your ramps, worth the effort for the view though.
A fantastic location with easy access to the well maintained canal towpath leading 1.75 miles west to Llangollen and 2.5 miles East to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Good food with a bit of a twist to make it their own, some nice touches on simple fare and with selection of guest beers.
Staff were all excellent and helpful.

Nice area, pub and staff. I was lucky to get in as I arrived late on Friday evening and the landlord allowed me to use the last spot in the gated area for motorhomes. He said he would prefer if people could phone in advance to avoid disappointment. It appears to be a very popular pubstop.

Nice pub stop just outside Llangollen. Dont take the first satnav turning to the pub as the road is too narrow at 2mtrs. Keep going to Llangollen over the river effectively turning back on yourself. Tip is to visit Llangollen first as its quite a walk. Nice views of the countryside and canal but quite close to busy road. Dog friendly. Play area for kids. Canalside walks. Busy road for cycling

Great stop near Llangollen. Spectacular views of the countryside and canal. Close to busy road but you dont really hear it. Dog friendly. Nice play area for kids. Canalside walk or cycle to Llangollen or viaduct the other way. Drinks only on Friday as food stops at 9pm. Stopped again on the way home & also had food, which was excellent, I had the ribs, best I've ever tasted, burger was v.good and kids ham, egg n chips great value too.
Friendly locals and helpful staff. We will be back i'm sure!

A pub carpark, but spaces kept specifically for motorhomes (through the main carpark, through gate, on hard standing). Friendly pub - obviously they'd like you to eat in - great views of the countryside and a half hour walk to Llangollen itself. The parking area does slope a little - we used our chocks. but it's free, close to food and a lovely part of Wales
