Car park with picnic benches beside the Markinch Nature Reserve and next to the old South Kessock Ferry Terminal. Quiet carpark at the end of the road. This is also a bus turnaround point and there are buses in to town all day. Site is slightly sloping and you may need to choose your site with care. This may not work for longer vans as they might obstruct the bus turning circle.

Great stop, very friendly locals. Pulled up at about 7.30pm, to a full carpark. Whilst debating our options. A local gentleman aproached the van. Fearing the worst from previous posts, we thought he was going to put a flea in our ear. Turns out, he was super friendly, told us the carpark will be empty by 9.00pm, as there was rugby practice on. Told us we could park opposite his house to wait. Said we would have a peaceful night with great walks in the morning, and he wasn’t wrong. He mentioned taking our waste away with, as some previous m/homers had not. Which we have done. Fantastic stop. Caladonian canal right on the doorstep.

well I'm disgusted with my so called fellow campers not only are you damaging other peoples cars of residents that live there. area an not supposed to be parking for camper Van's etc but that's not what I'm disgusted at some dirty b.....ds are dumping their chemical toilets into the moray Firth endangering water, animal flora and others who come here including children. we watched one van do this an when we said about it got threatened with violence. Understandably locals are getting very angry not only the lack of respect but total disregard for ruining there home. I'm sure we wouldn't like it on our own doorsteps . Stay away not good place

Stayed for two nights with a couple of other vans on the second night we were woken about 1.30 am as a car pulled along side with music blaring out from within next morning one of the other van owners said someone had been banging on their door.
A council worker who came to empty the rubbish bins said it was one of the residents who frequently complain to the council and police about vans being parked up.

The pitchup has limited room a for large motorhome. It was virtually empty when we arrived early evening so we took a couple of spaces.
Not in a particularly salubrious area and a very unpleasant character from a nearby house took offence to our presence and made threatening gestures and also took our reg number. Needless to say we left shortly after and drove to Nairn marina for a much more pleasant experience.

As previously said bays are 5m and grass behind raised so need lots of ground clearance to reverse and not obstruct bus turning. We are 7.5m so parked traversing 3 bays. No complaints but never full as it was march!
Great walk along nature reserve then along caledonian canal. Into town if desired (we went to castle the spiritual stast of NC500).
Great dog frieldly pub with nice food and log fire other side of canal called Clachnaharry Inn.

A usefull stopover within easy walk of Inverness. Spaces are a little short, but on some you can overhang the grass to fit a small to medium unit in. It is very close to houses but we had no bother from the occupants.

Took a look, but vans need to be five metres or less, as spaces are really small. This is really a car park for cars. Not in a very pleasant part of town either. Felt uncomfortable and didn't stay.

We were too long for bus turning circle, but stayed in the hardstanding by the bus stop just before. No 4 bus quite slow, met a local while waiting he walked with us into the city, quite a reasonable walk. Inverness surprisingly small city, easy walk around or jump on the hop on hop off bus £8 for seniors.

Parked lengthways across parking bays because of length of our motorhome, without problem. Bus turning circle by old ferry ticket office. Now an information centre and tea shop (sundays only) for local nature reserve run by a lovely lady called Dell. Nice walk to canal. Told we may see dolphins and otters in the Moray Firth. (Sadly we didn't). No local shops. Very good overnight stop.

Lovely stop over. Its a bus turning circle with several parking spaces around the outside. Beautiful views all around. Buses stop around 10pm and are infrequent during the day/evening. May need leveling ramps and we had to park across 2 spaces but it wasn't a problem.

We arrived here around 10:00pm after an event at Eden Court Theatre and the car park was empty. A few cars came and went quietly and the last few buses of the day turned round. We had a quiet night here and stayed until late morning. The views on a fine day are stunning and go almopst all the way round. The car park is not perfectly flat and you might want to choose your bay with care. We parked OK without using our ramps. There are rubbish bins but no water and no toilets. There is a frequent bus service in to Inverness which could make this a very good location for exploring the city.
