Stayed here for one night great pub great food. Traffic noise was relentless though so moved on
after one night. Just be careful where you park during the spring tide ????

Awesome stopover location. Car park gets busy during day with walkers and pub visitors. we arrived late afternoon and lurked until a better place became free. Fantastic view across the water. Didn't visit pub but it looked very welcoming. We had a very peaceful night. Car park places nearer the road will be a bit noisier. Will absolutely stay here again.

Have used this overnight parking a few times when catching a ferry from Portsmouth or arriving back latish on the ferry. Its about 15 mins drive from the Ferry port. It is a largish free council carpark, no restrictions. Right next to the harbour, lovely view. We have eaten and drunk at the Ship pub, very nice, popular but it is not obligatory to go there as it is not their car park. Pub comings and goings in the evening but otherwise very quiet and safe, one of our favourites.

Lovely location, hassle free. Good pubs nearby. Adjacent road busy, local Public Loo a bit dodgy.

A pleasant stop over, arrived at 2pm but car park was busy. Decided to take a trip round island and then returned 430pm and lucky to find a spot. Popular pub with good food, friendly staff. Car park is not owned by the pub so could be a free stopover without the need to frequent the pub. Highly recommended.

A council owned car park next to The Ship Inn pub so free of charge to stay overnight. A really good location not far off the A27 & A3M so making it a convenient dtopping off point with easy access to Hayling Island and Portsmouth.
The Ship Inn is a good pub with typical pub food and just 5 minutes away is The Royal Oak again offering good food and beers.
I would certainly stay here again when in the area.
