The Quinta is a small estate set in 9 hectares of it's own grounds and was once a typical small holding or farm, but is now a small scale holiday resort with four self catering luxury holiday villas, a small camping site, two fully equipped family tents and a beautiful eco friendly swimming pool for communal use by our guests.
Relax and dream away
"Quinta do Retiro" lies in a small, hidden valley 350 metres above sea level and looks out onto a beautiful terraced landscape. The views are enchanting and ever changing in their effects. Because of it's former life as a farm you can still enjoy the olive and fruit trees as well as the grapevines that dot the property.

I cannot add much to the previous review . But if you are in the area then its a definite site to spend a few days just chilling. The eco pool is fascinating and reminded me of swimming in the River Tweed rather than chlorine. I loved it. The owners are so helpful but unobtrusive. Facilities are wonderful and as a result people are very respectful. My husband did cycle into a nearby village ( bit hilly ) but its all doable. We came for two nights . Staying for longer. Recommended .

Jurrie and Marga are welcoming and friendly, they have clearly put a lot of time and effort into this place.
The site is quiet and a place to relax and recharge your batteries.
Pitches are spacious with sun umbrellas and loungers, there are picnic tables dotted around too. Free wi-fi, plentiful fresh water points, EHU’s and a cassette waste point on site.
Washrooms are large and very clean having been built to a high standard and are regularly cleaned.
The eco swimming pool is a place of tranquility, well looked after and a pleasure to use.
If you wish Jurrie will arrange for you to have fresh bread rolls delivered each morning which is a very nice treat.
Highly Recommended

Senior couple, medium motorhome <7.5.
What a find ! Beautiful little campsite. The owners, Jurrie and Marga, a lovely Dutch couple ,have created a little gem of a site. The facilities are more in keeping with a top class hotel.
2 huge walk in shower rooms, with double sink, and a disabled shower room with toilet and double sink. Two large toilets, each with its own wash basin. Perfect for the dozen or so pitches. On-site a small organic swimming pool and play area. On a Sunday, go to the town of Tabua (20 minutes away) to the local municipal market selling fresh local produce and also have a Sunday lunch of the most delicious barbecued spatchcock chicken.
