My second stop here ... love the place. Food and beers in the Captains wife are good with real fires roaring in the winter. Car park has lighting on through the nite which is reassuring. Pub not open for breakfast however the place next door is, and very well priced. Lots of walks in the area, head west on the coast path and you will pass the old battery post protecting the channel entry. Before this you should pass an old farmhouse right by the sea which has an unusual pill box at waters edge.View all reviews by suppersready
Our second stay here. The manager gave permission for us to park across 3 bays in the car park as it was quiet. Great food in front of a fire. About 25 mins from Cardiff which is ideal for us collecting our son from uni. Close to a rocky beach. It was quiet when we stayed. If it's busier you can park by the sea wall, but at this time of year it can be windy.View all reviews by lilacali
Only stayed one night, good food, made very welcome by staff, good views didn't go off site, good size car park with overflow, would use again if in area.View all reviews by delboyiow
Great food and drink a bit pricey ..staff very friendly....location was good however it was an awful night stay as joy riders started at midnight right through to 6am ...gangs of youths playing loud music and speaking to the locals this is a regular occurrenceView all reviews by wayne02
Arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon down the very narrow lane ( not really suitable for large motorhomes ) . The place was very busy so we parked up in the overflow carpark which is along the sea wall. Obtained permission from the manager to stay overnight which was no problem.View all reviews by Samnkeez
A great pub with good food and drink . The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The beach is very dangerous and clearly states when it is OK to walk out to the island at low tide.
Much quieter on Monday morning where we picked up litter and used “disposable” BBQ’s to take home and dispose of correctly.
A great place to stopover and would use again if in the area.
What a Gem. This place is a real find just back from the beach with great views. The approach road Beach Road, is narrow with small passing places so make sure you check out the route before you visit. The pub has a large lawned and patio area for food and drinks. We were there on a Friday night and glad we had booked as the dining area was full by 7.00 pm. Casual dining with good quality food and drinks. The car park overnight was quiet and peaceful. Will definitely return.View all reviews by swoods
Really warm welcome and lovely spot to park. Views across to Sully Island and Leckwith point are fab and good dog walking across the beach.View all reviews by helenfrance2013
Great evening meal and not too pricey - under £100 for 5 people, 2 courses. We were meeting up with family, so always planned to eat. We asked about whether it was expected and our hosts just said it would be nice to see us in the bar for a drink if we returned on our own!
Approach is a little challenging and we wouldn’t access via Sully Rd again!
Stayed Friday night. Plenty of space on the carpark went to the pub for a meal. Food great and normal prices. Nice sea view.View all reviews by PaulandLou
Stayed here last night on a windy, rainy night. The pub was very welcoming, no pressure to eat but we did and had lovely pizzas next to the fire. Big car park, some of it overlooking the sea but we parked behind a hedge for shelter. Great views this morning.View all reviews by lilacali
