A planned stop-over on our month long trip and perfect timing to shelter from Storm Alex; signs are unclear as to exactly where motor-homes are allowed to park. Signage is very clear where you cannot park!! The access road is in a bad condition and larger mobies may struggle; we were fine. An interesting area and quite a classy local village/town of Aldeburgh to look round and don't forget the giant metal Scallop sculpture, erected to honour Benjamin Britain and designed by Maggie Hamlin.

Nice location for daytime parking, we stayed here for two days and wildcamped at two locations nearby. Nice cycle or walk to Thorpeness, a quirky village which is well worth a visit.

Stayed one night in late July in our camper, on the lower of the two tracks, overlooking the marsh land, just before the sailing club. Couple vans were up on the higher track and a couple in the sailing club car park. Quiet but there are vehicles going by on the gravel track. Can’t beat the location!

Stayed there new years eve. Seemed very popular for campers but was a good place to park up for the night followed by a nice walk on the beach.

Gamble paid off as we had read previous reviews of the site but genuinely struggled to see the little notice saying 'no sleeping overnight'. One could always be night fishing...!!! A huge car park next to the sailing club. It had a few cars in when we arrived at 4pm one August Saturday afternoon and when we left 24 hours later it was quite full. It's free and is designated for motorhomes. The sun sets over the river and is delightful. The pebble beach is just over the bank. A short walk to town.

Visited by car but took and uploaded a photo of the parking instructions that we saw. Saw a moho parked in the pay & display (as per the last review) but they had a 'good' spot where their overhang was over grass. The 'grass' was the public footpath which was then blocked.

We parked up here just before the yacht club, but both sides of the main sign have stickers at the top saying ‘No sleeping overnight in vehicles’ but they also still say 18 hours free!
The gentleman in front of us & another who had stayed the previous night had both been issued tickets but he said he would fight it as the signs are very unclear, we didnt stay night but a beautiful free location non the less with lovely walks & all facilites close by.

Spent a very quiet night outside Slaughden sailing club. Only one other motorhome visible, obviously a favoutite spot for people walking their dogs. The following day we parked up in the pay and display carpark at the end of the road and spent a happy couple of hours wandering around the lively village of Aldeburgh.

We park here during the day every few weeks as it's quite local to us for giving the motorhome a run out during the colder months. Excellent spacious free parking area that tends to get crowded at weekends, as Aldeburgh is such a lovely place to visit. There are free toilets in the adjacent Pay & Display car park. Park here and then walk next to the sea from Aldeburgh to Thorpeness, which is also gorgeous and has lovely cafes by the boating lake. The walk to Thorpeness is under 2 miles.

As per previous post - Large gravel car park at the end of the village next to the yacht club. You can stay for 18 hrs free. There is no mention of not being able to park overnight on the main sign but someone has put a small red sticker on a car park sign saying no overnight sleeping. (Sticker defaced and replaced with a small sign). Very quiet and a lovely location by the sea.
