Flat riverside car park on the edge of town. I stayed on Saturday of May Bank holiday and the night club over the road was very lively and rocking until around 2:00 am. I’m sure that week nights would be ok, but being a bank holiday there was a lot of noise.
Nice walk of about a mile along the river. Toilets in the car park too, but not open at night.
Hats off to Powys council for free overnight parking.

Just the ticket. Park at the back of car park then less late night noise. It appears to be free overnight for a camper van though motorhomes 6.30. Toilets clean, Fountain Inn across the road for excellent real ale, good food and dog friendly.
VW Crafter mwb camper.

Stayed overnight right on the river. A lovely spot, a few minutes into the town and walk along the river. Toilets clean, disabled toilet with Radar key, showers (we presume as we didn’t go in) are 50p. We had a quiet night, although you can hear the traffic at times. Free for blue badge holders. Would stay again

Stayed for one night; payment confusing for overnight as there is no picture of a motorhome! We just paid the day rate. All was fine. One other Moho was there, they did the same. About 5 HGVs also stopping over. Quite night. Lovely walks along the river and pubs, fish chip shops etc within a few minutes walk. Would recommend.

Great. Stopped here overnight travelling back from Wales GB rally. Toilets and showers still open when we arrived just after 7pm. Very nice chatty cleaning attendant let us get some drinking water as we'd run completely out.

Yes, well done Powys Council. Enjoyed a nice quiet night. Level car park, toilets, showers and great riverside walks. Close to town with all the amenities

Praise to the council for providing showers (50p to enter & £1 for a 6 min shower) and free toilets. Be aware the toilets and shower are locked overnight (8/9pm) open again early next morning, about 7.30am. Good clean facilities. Our stopover was a Saturday night on a lovely warm summer evening. On the night we stayed, the car park was very busy and appeared to be a way into town by the local youths on foot. It remained noisy until well into the early hours. Lovely walk along river. Free after 6

Stayed the day here paid the £3.20 but didn't stop overnight as we were going to Brecon. Free overnight with toilets and shower. As with all other car parks in the Brecon Beacons .70p 1 hr ,£1.30 2hrs,£2.50 4hrs and over 4hrs £3.20.Busy car park with a few trucks coming and going but nice village and walks down the river. As for the comment about an overnight fee as the signs say it is free for campers/motorhomes and i bet the very nice lady in the council office would be delighted if you pay .

Stayed here last night and very impressed! Lovely location right by the river and great amenities with toilets and shower (£1). However, the tariff is confusing re motorhomes and whether we pay over night. Motorhomes are not mentioned in their listings, nor on their website and the pictures on the signage are also misleading. Anyway, we ended up ringing the helpline and a very nice lady at Powys Council confirmed motorhomes come under the Goods vehicle bracket and you MUST PAY £6.30 to stay.

Just to clarify on one of the earlier reviews, the car park barriers will be in use the week of the Royal Welsh Show, usually the 3rd week in July

Stayed here, good size car park, free from 6pm to 8am, can only stay 1 night in 7, toilets and 1 shower which cost £1.50p, nice and clean, there are height barriers but they were fully open, several other vans staying also.

Haven't actually stayed overnight here but I can offer advice. Powys County Council have recently invested in the refurbishment of these facilities in a bid to attract motorhomers, what a welcome relief. The car park is the main one for the town and is central to all amenities. It is next to the Groe (the park) with the river Wye running through it. The scenery is stunning. Builth is a small town of 2000 people so would be very quiet at night, lots of pubs but limited places to eat. Use as a base for touring mid wales and the dams. The site is completely free overnight!!!
