I stopped there for two nights. You cant fault the place. The car park is clean, level and quiet. The estuary is lovely and you even get to see foxes at night. The pub staff were really welcoming and the food/drink there was nice and good value for money. I will be stopping here again.

Stopped here on our way home, went for a short walk around, not to far as misses Left her walking stick in van, car park appears to be in 3 parts, as you drive in from the road there is a parking area (this is pay and display don't park here) go straight towards the pub, you will see a car park to the right (WRONG ONE) turn left immediately behind pub, there are two car park here, park as near to the pub as possible, this is the pubs half of the car park, bottom half is pay and display, (will become as clear as mud when you get there, and there is a lot of mud, in the sea not the car park) Excellent welcome from staff, great variety of drinks, excellent meal good price, I'll be back.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. A really nice location. The carpark is not part of the pub but I ate in there anyway. Food typical pub food but good.
As said before, make sure you park near to pub as half the c p is private with no overnight stopping.
I think there are local buses to various parts of Portsmouth & Southsea? Otherwise it’s an easy cycle rude to Southsea or Gunwharfe quays.
I will certainly stay there again.

Nice level car park, with a great view. Friendly staff directed us to the far side ( un marked ) car park and advised us where to pitch ( some of the carpark is local authority and does not permit overnight motorhome ). We were the only motorhome. The LA carpark included dog waste bins, which is useful ( if you have dogs).
The pub is ultra dog friendly. We ate in the pub, and the food was standard pub grub. All in all a good experience and will visit again if we in the area

After caravanning for years, this was our first motorhome stopover.
We called Sarah a couple of days ago (who was fantastic).. no problems to park in the overflow carpark.
The pub was busy, however, food was fresh, filling and tasty.
A great stop over, we will use it again..

Good stopover, food good and not too pricey. Lovely views over to Hayling Island. No noise at night, once pub has shut. Phone before arrival. Would use again. Toilets can be used whilst pub is open.

Lovely stop over. We called ahead and the landlady was very happy to let us stay. Very quiet spot with a view over the tidal harbour. You can use the toilets when the pub is over otherwise there is no facilities available.

An excellent pub for a stopover prior to ferry crossing then again on return. The staff are very obliging and work hard to make sure everyone is happy. The views are lovely across the estuary especially at night time with light reflections and mornings with the sun rising. Very reasonable, tasty carvery available on Sundays.

Phoned ahead and stayed overnight for an early ferry the next day. Friendly greeting when we arrived, great meal overlooking the water, good value drinks and food. Lovely and peaceful so we had a good night's sleep, ready for an early start. And it's only a 10 min drive to the port. We'll definitely stay here again.

Phoned ahead and found staff friendly and helpful. The pub has a Four Square menu which is fine if you’re looking for something quick to eat. Stayed one night with no charge in the large car park to the left rear side of the pub overlooking the water. It was very quiet and we had a very peaceful night. Lovely view of the sun rise in the morning.
If you visit, be careful as the far end of the car park does not belong to the pub.
Would recommend if you need an overnight stay in Portsmout

We stayed here before catching an early morning ferry from Portsmouth, about 20 mins drive away. We rang beforehand to confirm that they had room for us. What a great pub by the waters edge! We (and friends) had a great meal and evening in the pub. We would definitely stay next time we take the ferry, and during better weather we would take the walk along the coastal path. We were there during the cold snow February/March 2018.

Lovely pub right on the waters edge. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Easy walking or cycling to Southsea. Great dog walks along the shore. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great value pub grub, beer and wine. Perfect stop over to see our Daughter run 'The Great South Run'. Would highly recommend.

Excellent overnight stop for Portsmouth Ferry. 17 min from pub to port via circuitous satnav route but easy. Basic car park, plenty of space a Fayer and Square pub, food basic but reasonable- will stay again. On estuary view would be stunning if tide was high.

What a great spot for overnighting before catching the ferry. The Landlord and staff are really friendly and helpful and the facilities and pub grub are great. We missed the turning into the pub as it's set back a bit so watch out for it carefully as the road gets very narrow after! When you get in the entrance turn left in front the of the pub building and park up on the hard standing next to the patio tables 10 feet from the sea. Fantastic views and very quiet and undisturbed.

Good all round (Fayre & Square) pub with beer garden overlooking the estuary. Food was very good and not too expensive. Friendly landlord and staff. Car park very quiet at night. Even had the local police round to see if we were ok.

Phoned up before hand and was told parking is to the left. We were the only 'van there on a Saturday night in July!. We got there too late for food (had a blowout) so just went in for one drink (felt obliged). Stayed for a few more as there was an excellent band on. The parking is right by the water (I'll upload a pic but doesn't seem to be working). Will Definitely stay again when getting the ferry from Portsmouth.

Stayed on a Saturday night and although the pub was very busy our food arrived in very good time. Excellent value too. Great view over the water from the carpark. Nice and level without the chocks. Only us there and no noise.
