Hassle-free with a large and flat (mainly) car park. Good pub grub in the bar. Overall a nice stopover point.

Our first trip out as motor homers! Easy parking and food and drink good in the pub, dog friendly too! Car park is over the road from the pub and gets busy in the morning. There is water available from the side of the pub which is great but do it very early cause later people park up in front of the pub and you can’t park up then to get to it! Great walks straight from the pub

This is a great stopover by Ladybower Reservoir and I have stopped here a few times now. The food and drink is good and staff could not be more friendly.

The location is perfect for Bamford and Stanage Edges.

Arrived on a busy and hot bank holiday Monday (not our smartest move!)
Tha car park is not huge and we struggled to find room but once parked Wow what a place with a wonderful view over the reservoir.
Lovely meal and peaceful nights sleep

Didn’t stay here as apparently they have a max 5 moho/van limit (National Park rules, they say), so make sure you turn up early at busy times or phone ahead. There must have been 10 units parked up at 7pm, but they reckoned all but 5 would be turfed out later. Can’t give a realistic rating obviously!
Edit: drove past early next morning and there were still 10 units parked up! Go figure!!!

Staff great and happy for you too stay. We didn’t have breakfast but other couple said very good and £6.
Tap by side of pub happy for us to use.
A few vans there.

Great stopover place we did try to phone ahead and got no answer I emailed as well and sent a message via face book and still no reply so just turned up and asked in the bar is it ok to spend two nights in the car park, yes no problem was the reply. Overnight was quiet but Saturday and Sunday day time was noisy with lots of motor bikes and fast cars out on a jolly but as we were on walks most of the day it was not a problem. I will talk about the food in another review.

Further to my last post the meals were hit and miss, on Saturday night my wife had liver casserole which was very good I had chicken ham and mushroom pie with vegetables and chips my only complaint was that there was not enough sauce to cover the veg but it was soon put right when they came round asked if every thing was ok and straight away brought extra out. both meals where served piping hot and very quick. On Sunday though it was not quite so good, see next post.

Sunday I had a small breakfast but not really worth £6, on Sunday night the wife had a pork baguette with stuffing and apple sauce she called over the waitress to say where's the stuffing and apple sauce it comes with only to be told it's in the baguette when we looked again one side had apple sauce spread as thin as butter and the same on the other side with the stuffing, after we complained she brought out more of each to put in. My dish came without the salad on so it also had to be put right

Fantastic pub stopover by Reservoir...spot on level pitch semi/grass/gravel , Tv signal okay and wifi signal good..pub food very good , the works incl drinks main and desserts £40 - 2x people but could have easily spent less. Right on A57 so lots of traffic, pitches set aside from main car park quiet at night and felt safe. Highly recommend this stop over..lovely walks nearby.

My second stopover at Ladybower Inn after a fashion photo shoot around the Peaks, including the reservoir, Chatsworth and some beautiful water falls.

Had a meal and drink afterward and the tuna steak was superb.

This won't be my last visit.

Brilliant stopover with superb views and walks from the carpark. Stayed midweek and called ahead and told just to park up and call in after our walk. 8 miles later we called in and the staff and regulars were very friendly. Excellent selection of hand pulled beers and food was very good. Had a great nights sleep and 2 other motorhomes parked up. It does get very busy at weekends. Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice little motorhome stopover. Staff friendly and helpful. The pub is dog friendly. Excellent food and some very good ales. Walks from the Pub to Ladybower etc. Can get busy at weekends but we went midweek. A quiet night when the traffic on A57 quietens down. Overall would definitely use again. Water available on outside tap near kitchen...just ask first.

Rang ahead to book and was told yes that's ok no problem and it's free parking just as long as you have a meal or a drink in the pub, we booked a table and our meal was 5star, beers went down very easily after a long days waking up Win Hill. Highly recommended will stop again...

This is a gem of a place. Good food, great staff and motorhome stopover.
The car park is in the main flat and the views are lovely. Went to sleep and had no noise from traffic until about 7am. We did notice that some were just parking up and not using the pub. One van had chairs outside too. But on the whole it was very nice to stop. Given the weather at 16 degrees for February, the pub was crowded. Don't forget to phone ahead and also book a table!

A very welcoming Landlord. ‘Lars’ loves motor homers as they are great fun and good company in the pub. The pub is very dog friendly. The car park is quite level and will stand a good number of rv’s. Three good real ales, and full selection of wines etc all reasonably priced.
We ate in the bar but there are a tables available in various rooms. The food is plentiful and good quality with varied appetites and tastes catered for.
Recommended. We will be visiting again, great walks and cycle rides from the premises.

The food, drink and views from the pub and its car park are excellent, not the cheapest of evening meals but good quality food. Being open for breakfast is also a massive bonus, it was also very good.

The car park is pretty much level and plenty of room once the dinner rush has gone, however, the road is quite noisy from 6am till about 1am, it is quieter the further you go into the car park but the best views are closer to the road.

I’ve got a pop top camper so the Noise is probably more noticeable than if you were in a motorhome.

Overall it’s a great base for wandering in the local area and I would most definitely go again but I’ll probably take some headphones or some ear plugs.

Great food and beer, friendly landlord, staff and customers.
Pleasant view towards Ladybower and Win Hill.
Midweek you’ll probably be the only van there, the road is busy until late and early the next morning with commuter traffic.

Ladybower Inn have been there loads of times but just as a day visitor.
This wk/end 23rd - 25th myself and a friend decided to do a wk/ender in the Peak's, Saturday evening we went and had a drink in The Ladybower Inn asked if it was okay to stay the night in their carpark. They were totally fine about it, even though there were two campervans.
Once awake an up we went for our breakfast over in Ladybower, it was well worth the money and lovely too.

Food and drink was good, car park a bit cramped onto a pretty busy road. Took us three attempts during the afternoon get a space, hostile local when trying to reverse out. Had evening meal and breakfast. Nice view of reservoir. Would go back again.

Probably the best food at any of the pubs we have stayed at overnight. We had rib eye steak with fresh prawns, delish. The car park was slighty sloping, but plenty of space and fantastic views of the reservoir. Landlord was very friendly and welcoming. We’ll be back soon

Stayed here Saturday night called in to make sure it was ok to park in car park. The lady behind the bar said it was no problem was not pressurised to buy a drink or food but we did both the food was excellent and the beer wasn't bad either. The view through the trees to the dam is nice. When we got up the next morning we had been joined by a couple more vans. The pub re-opens for breakfast at 0800 but we cooked in the van would stay here again.

Spent one night in the car park in the camper van. Due to it being a Bank Holiday the car park was busy, but we managed to park. The staff in the Inn were helpful and friendly and we had a gorgeous meal there in the evening. The car park was reasonably level, and at night we shared it with two other camper vans. Really handy for the reservoir (which you can see from a couple of spaces in the car park) and I enjoyed a 2 hour walk with the dogs. Would recommend and I will go back.

I stayed for one night (Friday). I told the barmaid I'd seen the pub on this site and asked if I could park up for the night. She was friendly and told me it was no problem. There was no pressure to buy a meal, but I did. The menu was reasonably priced and had a good selection of typical pub food. There were 4 or 5 other motorhomes in the car park and apart from the very windy weather, the place was quiet. I parked to the right edge of the car park and had a nice view over the reservoir. It's a flat carpark so it was very easy to find a good spot.

Nice spot to visit the Ladybower reservoir. It is on the edge of the reservoir with a great view. However, the road is very busy. The pub itself has a nice interior, friendly locals, but the food is not that great.
