The site boasts a prime location in the north of the Lake District with stunning views extending over the lake to the hills beyond. Keswick is an organised campsite with good facilities – showers, toilets, washing up area, a laundry and a new backpacker room, particularly useful for those arriving on foot or by bike. Keswick town is within walking distance and ticks all the boxes for provisions, outdoor gear, eating and drinking.
Varies with time of year, pitch, etc.

A typical c&cc site. Facilities as you expect them to be - clean, well maintained. Friendly wardens. The site itself gets very busy in peak times and you are advised to book ahead. It can feel like you are packed in on a set of `streets' but it is worth it for access to the lake and for the 5 minute pleasant walk into Keswick. Expensive if you're not a member but good value if you are.

Beautiful location and excellent facilities but really irritating that you have to book a minimum of 3 nights. We arrived before our friends and even though we had all booked and paid and asked to have adjacent pitches, we were told that because we arrived separately and because of ‘data protection’ it was impossible to guarantee to put us together, because it would involve informing the people who arrived second of the first people’s location on the site.

Typical C&CC Site, in terms of friendly wardens, tidiness, facilities etc. Usual Club rules about spacing (6metre). Walking distance of Keswick (5 minutes). Popularity may be it's undoing in high season I would suspect.

Typical C&CCSite clean and tidy with friendly wardens. Be aware it can be very windy here.

WARNING DOG OWNERS

The lake has blue green algee at times which is harmful to dogs. Not usuallytnere in winter, but because we have nothad a prolonged frost, itis tnere at the moment. Look out for the signs posted in the ladies and Genrs. Poster also around the lake edge in places.

After a few weeks in Scotland stayed at this site on the way home. Honestly all packed in like sardines really don't understand the popularity apart from a short walk into Keswick. All the facilities are good but seriously not enough space very very close together gives the impression of space= money.. There is no view as there are so many caravans and motorhomes everywhere..

Lovely site with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains in every direction. No way can you just turn up, booking weeks in advance is essential. This site has something for everyone, hiking, boating, shopping, dining are all nearby. It is right next to the bus station so you can travel out and hike back

Great location, near to town and shops etc. Will not let you in before 13.00. Had to stay for the minimum 3 nights, lots of work going on when I visited, did not make a difference to me. The most expensive I have stayed at so far.Staff are not the best I have come across.

Work being done onsite (Jan 2018) to convert some hardstandings to full service pitches. Motorhome service point was out of use due to the works. Great location for the town and the lake view. Charge for boat launching (inc kayaks). Two glamping pods are now available to rent. We thought it was very expensive.

I don't know why this site is one of my favourites. It's expensive, you need to book a minimum of 3 nights, it often floods and the main site can be windswept. But all this is made bearable by the fantastic location in Keswick. A short walk to the town, supermarket and bus stops means we can park up and leave it parked all weekend. The lake is incredible and the snowy mountains give a dramatic backdrop. I don't know why I love it, but I do.

One of our favourite sites but be aware it can flood in heavy rain especially the access lane. We had to evacuate last November but were given good notice. Great location within easy walking of the town and lake. Facilities recently refurbished. Thought it was fair value for money. Very popular site.

Great location, good facilities. No dog walk on site. ( There used to be but it has been removed). Long driveway into site which has to be traversed every time you have to take the mutt for a leak.
Low water table means that the grass gets very wet and muddy every time there is heavy rain. - I'm afraid that is a regular occurrence in Keswick. Just returned after another washout. Don't think I'll return. Expensive!

The site has a fantastic location on the edge of Derwentwater with stunning views all around. The site is clean and tidy the staff were friendly and helpful. Keswick town centre is only a short walk away so there is a plentiful amount of pubs shops and eateries to keep you fed and watered. My only gripe would be the price at almost £30 per night for 2 of us in a campervan with no awning. The premium location means they can charge premium prices!

My favourite UK site.
Fantastic location and views. Only a short walk into Keswick town centre.
Very good facilities and lake access.
Loads of great walks can start and finish here, including catbells and Skiddaw.
It is very busy most of the time, so booking in advance makes sense.

One of the best locations for views, access etc BUT very very popular so need to book well in advance for peak periods. Liable to flooding as it sits between the Lake & River. Facilities have been modernised over the last few year - expensive

Managed to get on this very popular site at very short notice. Got the impression from the reception that we were very lucky to get on. On arrival at 13.00 prompt we were amazed to be offered a choice of 3 different pitches right on the lake side! Lovely site, great facilities, close to town centre and stunning views, what more do you want!

We stayed here in April 2016. Site had been closed for refurbishment following the floods in Cumbria. Therefore in first class condition.
The location is superb right on the shore of Derwentwater yet just a short walk into Keswick offering shops and services lus bus services to all parts of the Lakes.
