Very quiet location. We were only van there. 2 caravans in car park with no occupants (possibly for people working on restoring the railway). There is work going on to restore an old railway bridge which is on one side of the carpark. Still plenty of room to park. Honesty box for using carpark. Lovely views from station.

Ideal quiet spot close to Leyburn, can agree with other reviews, but at the time of my visit it didn’t look as nice as some of the other photos, they had dug up part of the grassy bank to lift out two bridge sections ( it had been reinstated and will green over again in the spring) Have rated the facilities as 10 because for a quiet wilding site (just a good flat hard standing) away from the road you couldn’t wish for better.

Beautiful location next to the station, currently the western terminus of the Wensleydale Railway. Just us and one other van there. Stunning views. Flat hard standing and very quiet. No facilities. Lovely walk on field paths to Castle Bolton, about 20 minutes. To maintain this as a stopover please do put a couple of pounds in the honesty box and please don’t use the portable toilet as a cassette dump.

Approach from the East side (Mill Lane/Sissy Bank) DO NOT come along the bumpy road from Hargill Lane as it has really deep dips which was exhaust scraping. Staying here tonight and the view is fantastic. There were local railway volunteers here (daytime) doing repair work on the wall and they said that they often see caravans parked here aswell as Moho's. The tap along the lane they say isn't potable water. Bolton Arms pub do really good food, 10 mins away. Honesty box at end of Stn car park ????

Lovely spot, great views, apparently tap is fed from a spring, and has dried up at the moment. Nice pub in village which allows dogs on leads. Trains still run from station.

Parked during the daytime and enjoyed the peace and views. Easy to walk to the castle and back across the fields. We thought the entrance to this car park rather bumpy and care is needed to avoid damage to underside of the van if you have an underslung gas tank, as we have.

What a find.

Location. Perfect and almost flat. Tap down the road but not sure if it is for drinking. Get there after 4ish and it should be quiet. Short 10 min walk to the village if you want a pub.
No facilities other than water. Reasonably quiet but views are amazing. Especially if it is sunny like now. Highly recommended

First ever wild/free camp. Stopped over for 1 night late July parked in the car park. There's a water pipe further down the lane presumably fresh water but never checked. The scouts were using the building at the end of the car park but caused no issues. Quiet road only seen dog walkers on the lane. Walkers started gathering at 0930. Bolton Arms had nice grub in the village quite busy but it was Saturday. No facilities other than tap mention.
