Stopped here overnight on way back from Cornwall, close to the A30 so 2mins off route, very quirky, landlady very accommodating and loves you to have a good look around so dont be shy, nice food (We had Steak and Stilton Pie with Mash) ???? not overly priced and tasted good. Would definitely stop again if down this way ????

After a meal and drink we stayed the night in the carpark a great place to stay. Haunted and quirky place must been seen to believe. Food hhmmm size not great taste yummy. Beers standard. Wirth a night if your wanting to wild sleep near Dartmoor. Ok for a large motorhome

The most quirky pub in UK and a good experience. Nice garden parking round the back with fairly good solid ground so ok for larger motorhomes. This pub has to be visited if you like the unusual and some great photo opportunities. The food is ok, nothing special with a fairly limited menu but we enjoyed what we had. Spent ages touring all the nooks and crannies and taking photos. Very friendly helpful owners and we would stay again. Dog friendly. The toilet stays open all night.

Arrived late on a Sunday and the kiddies were asleep, so we unfortunately didn't get to see the pub inside. We'll definitely be coming back on our way home though! We phoned ahead and the friendly guy on the phone said they were just closing but we were OK to park up in the car park. We offered to come in for breakfast (I feel cheeky staying without bringing business) and the chap said they aren't open for breakfast but recommended a nice place up the road. Very friendly and helpful, and really appreciated after a long drive! Looks very quirky and quaint from outside, and definitely want to get in for a meal and a few drinks and hopefully see the ghost next time!

The grassy car park to the side of the pub makes a lovely camping area, with trees for shade or just to look up into from the bed in the morning from the roof-light.
The pub its self is well worth a visit..full of the weird and wonderful.
Friendly landlord who is happy for you to just have drinks, not food.
Lovely moorland walks directly from the pub. We are fairly local to the area - could have just gone on a day trip - but will definitely go again.q

Great overnight stop. Very interesting and welcoming inn with access to some great walks on the west side of the moors. Food and drink was excellent.
Plenty of space for this time of year (Feb) on gravel and grass. There’s a WC that is accessed from the street that was left unlocked overnight for us.

We stayed there last night. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Lots of interesting things to see. Overnight welcome with purchases of food or drink
The food is not homemade. Very soft pastry on my microwaved pie!
Different food is offered to B&B guests which may be homemade.
Having read online reviews I thought the food would have been good.
If you are a drinker stay for that instead as they had an amazing choice.

Stayed for one night. Very friendly landlady and staff. Really quirky unusual pub with loads of history. We arrived in the dark and it was very atmospheric - In fact I'm sure I heard the Highwayman's horse galloping past and off into the misty Devon night!

Fabulous pub, stop over free as long as you purchase a meal/drink, the couple are very helpful and friendly always happy to have a chat. The food is homecooked and a very good menu including vegatarian and vegan. There are 3 car parks one hardstanding and two grassed at the side of the pub. The pub its self is very very different, worth taking a look yourself. Easy to find. There are no facilities excepting the inside toilet, but f your only staying overnight thats all you need.

Great Quirky pub with lots of history, A must see experience (Bring your camera) the photos are worth a small donation towards the upkeep. The landlady and staff were very helpful and informative. Parking suitable for motorhomes of all sizes, although a little noisy in the morning from the main road. We only had drinks so didnt eat in the pub so can't comment on the food. Situated just across the road from the granite trail which runs from Oakhampton to Lydford (Great for walking and cycling)
