Free aire with free water/emptying the outskirts of rural village. The aire is well signposted through the town and the last 400m are on a dirt track. Great views from the aire of the village, fort and surrounding countryside. The parking area is sloping and is right next to the black pig farm and has sheep and goats roaming so expect some farmyard noise. Shops, bars etc in the town 5-10 minutes walk Nice spot for the night just us and the animals there.

Lovely walks in this area but the site itself is a bit bleak. Dog walkers beware - sheep sometimes roam freely over the site.

Fabulous views from this site, especially of the town and Castle. Not suitable for very big motorhomes and sloped site requires ramps. Road from town is a bit of a track but worth it. Facilities include chemical and grey water dump. There is a tap for fresh water but it wasn't turned on when we were here. There is a helicopter landing pad in front of the site!

Update on water, it was turned on around dusk. The castle was floodlit at night and looked magical. Great site.
