A great free place to stay. There are public conveniences just along the main promenade. £0.40 entry payable only by card. Two pubs to eat and drink in. A few shops for supplies and souvenirs. Chippy also open most days. The view across the River is very nice. Well worth the stopover.

Went back here on 15th of August, early morning and managed to squeeze in. The weather was glorious, we spent the afternoon in the local pub, which did meals and played some good 80s music, we also had fish & chips at the local chippy, so the local business,s got the neck end of a £100 quid from us, well worth it though not complaining, on the night half a dozon or more people lit a fire on the beach, and it was starting to get more and more noisy, I've never been so glad to see terential rain, came to the rescue, we would recommend, 8 marks out of Ten

Stayed here last night. Enjoyed a walk along the beach and prom here, the chippy is fab, and Ye Olde Fighting Cock pub welcomes dogs according to its signage, and was indeed welcoming.
Clattering noises from neighbouring MHs and street lights hindered our night's sleep. Visiting the local independent stores before leaving. Defo worth a visit.

middle aged couple, arrived here on 14/08/20 at 1.30pm it was very full all car spaces took, not supprisenly the weather was glorious and the tide was out showing the picturess esturiey, and all the kids are on holiday, the spaces at the end are still a little narrow and not quite long enough, we have a new 6 meter motor home, my wife was worried the sides got banged from other motors when coming and going, however their was a shorter motor home Parker up, we ended up stopping the night at Kendal cricket ground which looks fine but not with the great views of the promenade, I,LL leave a review of the cricket ground in due course, hope this info helps all the best.

Great place to park up for the night. Van 6.3m just fits if you go along as far as you can to dead end. Nice Indonesian and far east food at the Gado Gado. Only people there on Monday night mid April.

A good stopover site. We parked at the far end of the promenade where there are 4 or 5 longer bays. Quiet for what is on street parking in effect, as it is a no through road so no passing traffic. Lovely views over the estuary, walks along the beach and a choice of pubs, cafes and a chippy within a short walk. No facilities but public toilets nearby for 20p a visit

Lovely area free to park. Plenty of parking along promenade. Plenty of walks, shops close by and some pubs allow dogs. Beautiful scenery and lots of bird life. Toilets close by. Larger motorhomes can also use here, at night it quietens a lot, but busy in daytime.

No problem parking and fantastic view of the sun setting. Public toilets a few minutes walk away, take 20p to use them. Plenty of cafes nearby and a pub. Busy with dog walkers at teatime but quiet overnight.

Stayed here early May Bank Holiday expecting it to be busy but there was about 7 vans down the far end near the nursing home and room for more. My 6m Relay is the longest van I'd take here and even then I used the longer bays (there's about 5 long ones). Great views, 2 great pubs, public toilets and a well stocked shop. My new favourite spot!

Excellent spot as others have said. Arrived Sat 2nd Sep, busy but got a spot at the far end in the evening. Best to park at that end as was told there had been complaints of vans blocking the view at the londis shop end. Shop well stocked, lovely French style bread in the morning, chip shop, cafes etc and 2 pubs. Little woodland walk through the old gate near the home. Good atmosphere in both pubs, Fighting Cocks pub happy to put Rugby League on for us. Peaceful, lovely view to wake up to

Stayed here on Easter Monday and still found a spot but believe the summer can get very busy. A superb sunset over the bay and fantastic dog-walking on the beach. There was very little activity after 10pm being a no through road - hotel at the end now a nursing home. Good selection of small shops on the promenade front.

Great place to park for free for the night, providing your van is not too long! No passing traffic apart from the people parked in the overlooking hotels. The street is a dead end so no cars driving past all night. Wake up to beautiful sunrises and a few dog walkers on the beach. Toilets can be found a short walk up the promenade for 20p. No facilities but a couple of lovely pubs nearby in walking distance.
