Nice flat car park. Very welcoming staff. Reasonable dinner menu. Nice selection of ales and wines. 5 minutes from M6. Only downside is adjacent to a busy road so expect a bit of intrusive noise from 6am onwards. An excellent stopover.View all reviews by onlyjen

Very busy pub with good value pub food and drink. Car park is on the edge of the canal so a nice place to spend the night.View all reviews by VWww
Pub requests that overnight stays are parked in the far corner of the car park near the canal.
Note there are no facilities once the pub closes.
There is a 7-11 shop just across the road.
Would stay again if in the area.

Excellent stopover. Lovely location with great walks for dogs along towpath or into local common. Area used to be a salt mine years ago. Pub does very good Sunday meals when we were there. No facilities when pub shut but we knew that already. Local store 2 minutes walk away for any forgotten essentials. We'll be backView all reviews by pinarello

Friendly staff. Lovely outdoor seating area right on the canal. We arrived about 7.30 and were told no more food being served as there was a 2 hr wait! Kindly told us where another pub was to get food.View all reviews by pollyscoffy

I turned up here at around 8.30pm after a long drive and unfortunately they had stopped serving food. However, the barmaid was friendly and welcoming and assured me that I was welcome to stay even if I didn't buy anything. She even told me that if I wanted to order from the local takeaway, they would deliver to me in the car park! The pub seemed to be popular as it was busy. I enjoyed a drink on their patio area, looking at the barges and then had a really quiet night's sleep. I will go backView all reviews by debi1

First time here in Motorhome. Impressed with the view and the pub. Well looked after by Hayley, Sue and Drew. Had the Tuesday Special. £6.00 for a main course and topped off with a couple of pints of Marston's Pedigree. What more could you want?View all reviews by wily
Great stop over just by the M6 and plenty of room in the car park right next to the canal. We had no pressure to eat or drink, but you will seccumb to the temptation. Best to ring first as I'm told it can get busy

Nice stop over for one night. We arrived very late after a long journey so the pub had closed but friendly local directed us to the rear car park by the canal. A quiet spot; we were not disturbed by anyone. Lovely walk in the park over the other side of the canal the next morning. No facilities usedView all reviews by landbeach

This is a fantastic stopover site located next to canal. The Broughton Arms is very friendly and welcoming - locals and landlords. We met family and had a great meal. The pub has a great pool table which entertained the children. In the morning there was a lovely dog walk along the canal. Within a short drive there are plenty of National Trust properties.View all reviews by markjjones

No problems here. Just said hello on arrival whilst having a pint.View all reviews by guillotine
Pretty level. Right by the Canal. Pretty quiet with some road noise in the morning but nothing too bad. Nice restaurant, very friendly staff...good pub grub.
No hook ups etc as you'd expect but usual pub facilities. Larger motorhomes will struggle in peak times but loads of room for our sub 6m in November.

Make sure you phone ahead to check all is fine. Car park gets full quickly so make sure you get there early. It seems non patrons use the car park. We arrived at 7.30pm and struggled to get suitably parked. Beer, food and staff very good, pub was clean and welcoming. We would stay again as it was an ideal stopover for the LakesView all reviews by merikiito

Good stopover and quiet too with a lovely view of the canal right alongside the car park. Friendly natives and helpful staff at the bar serving good food at sensible prices make this a stopover that I will definitely return to, hopefully when we get a proper summer as the rainfall just took the edge off our visit .... Our MoHo reversed back nicely to the canal edge virtually .....not sure how to delete village image uploaded in error!!View all reviews by johnnytwosheds
