We stayed here for two nights, and ate in the pub both nights, food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Camping was free if you ate on the pub. We paid £5 per night for EHU. There was also a fresh water tap. Lovely walking from the spot up into the forest. There are signposted walks of varying lengths and fur differing abilities. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here one night, very freindly helpful staff, ate in the restaurant i had a curry with naan bread and relishes really nice, hubby had the steak cobbler which he really enjoyed tender chunks of steak and plenty of it. Short walk up to the castle then into the forest where theres a hide for any nature lovers, the information signs are really informative for the wildlife that you can spot if you have the patience (sadly I don’t ) back to the bar for a few drinks, quite busy with locals and campers from the site nearby, very enjoyable evening altogether. Would stay here again great value for money.

Simply brilliant.
£5 if you want EHU (cables supplied), otherwise free but it is expected that you will either use the bar and / or restaurant.
Room for 4 on EHU and a few more off grid.(phone ahead).
Fresh water/Chem and grey water disposal points.
No frills bar but very friendly and cosy with a log burner and pub dog, Jack. ❤
Food is delicious and can be served in the bar if you have your dog with you.
Great selection with plenty of specials on the boards.
Real value for money.????????????????????❤❤❤

We popped in without notice (but not recommeded as it gets busy with motorhomes!) with a campervan and were made very welcome. I would definitely call in the future. The place was very friendly and in a perfect location close to the castle.
Nice reasonably priced drinks and great food, the Kielder Cobler was really nice.
Toilets available but only while pub is open but there are some available at the activity sites around the lake a few miles away.
Nothing negstive to say, did the job for us, we had a great stopover. Thank you !

Arrived to a very friendly great from all the staff who showed us where to pitch up. Its free but we had booked ahead and got EHU for £5 per night. Great location near to Kielder Res and Castle. We stopped 2 nights and enjoyed the good pub grub and excellent beer in the bar. Slept very well and and felt very welcome all the time we were there, staff in pub were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend and even better if you get the weather like we did to enjoy the beer garden

Very accommodating staff let us stay two nights. Great spot in kielder water. Right next to castle visitor centre with toilets that seemed to be opened all the time. The pub was warm and friendly and had two real ales on. Large menu of good food, including kids menu, vegan, veggie and gluten free. Fire to keep warm. Dogs welcome. Great spot to stay and explore kielder.

We enjoyed a warm friendly welcome from our host Jack the resident dog not to mention the bar staff who couldn't do enough for us. Within walking distance of Kielder Castle, a short drive to Elf Kirk viewing point, lovely walks & mountain bike trails this little gem offers a great base to explore the area. It is also worth noting that there is a basic soil/chemicle waste facility which the staff will direct you to. Enjoy your visit!

Stayed on Dec 23rd.. very quiet in the pub, but that just meant that the service was quicker! A very friendly welcome from Mike and his staff.. Mike even lent us his lead for the free EHU. Lots of lovely dog walks around the site... oh, did I forget to mention the food? Absolutely first rate! We'd be more than happy to return.

Good location behind pub, with free hook up (need a 3 pin plug)- staff and locals very friendly, has 3 ales on plus the usual. Food is above average pub grub. Castle just up the road - Local shop does not sell very much at all apart from crisps, pop and newspapers. Circular cycle track around the water is 28 miles long and most enjoyable. Will visit again but a bit isolated.

Great place to stay. After a day cycling round Kielder Water we arrived back to the van pretty much worn out. The great food and beer were very much what we need. We both fell asleep in front of the huge log burning stove. We will return.

We were met with an extremely warm welcome. Parking was a little bit tight but not a problem, it was free EHU, water, waste supply. Which you don't find very often on a pub car park. Food was excellent and home cooked . Great value for money.Beautiful location.

Great spot right next to Kielder Village & Castle. Pub landlady/landlord & locals very inviting, & one of the staff gave us lots of info re local walks. Arrived at 8.30pm & was still able to get a hot meal. Great beer, with warm inviting seating area in lounge & crackling log fire. Looks like a Working Men's Club rather than a traditional olde worlde place, so may not charm you, but with free EHU & decent parking spaces at the rear of the pub you can't ask for much more!

Didnt actually stay, as had booked the camping site just next door, however walked past two to four times a day and always one to four van at the side/rear of the pub. Lots of people walk by during day light hours and in the evening, but would be a quiet as the campsite next door after the pub closes. Lovely meals in the pub and very friendly staff.

Pub and toilets a bit tired, but it's free with EHU. Found it strange why they had a big fan at the entrance. Found out later that evening MIDGES and lots of them. Food reasonable and not to expensive

Great pub, very friendly staff, I had a chicken curry and it was good. The pub is dog friendly, but on leads in pub, except pub dog. Parking is limited but I have a Berlingo so no problem, I phoned and booked the day before. The area around the pub is superb and you can walk straight into the forest, village etc. from pub, loved it

We got a very warm welcome from all the staff and the locals were also friendly, a very popular pub for hikers and with a good range of drinks and a extensive food menu all at reasonable prices, there's plenty of local activities to do like walking and fishing and you can even hire bikes to go around the lake. The pub is overdue a lick of paint and the toilets require updating, but overall a good place for a social stop over.

Stayed here for two nights during a 24hr race in February 2017. The place was a life saver! Nice pub, decent food and beers and really friendly staff, owners and locals too. I'll be back again for sure but maybe not for the race! The hook up was fantastic to keep the van warm as it was really cold. never felt in anyones way and was welcomed by the owner who was more than happy to have me.

Great pub stopover in the dark skies park of Kielder Forest. We rang in advance to check they were open and spaces would be available and was told there would be no problem. The pub is only open from 12 - 21:00 and is a more modern building than perhaps some of the other traditional stone pubs in the area but still has plenty of character and a roaring log burner in the bar and is very dog friendly. It's not the sort of place you ask for the wine list, but the food was more than adequate. I had Cumberland sausage in a Giant Yorkshire pudding, OH had Northumberland Cobbler steak and ale pie - both meals for £17.50 representing great value. The pub is close to the Kielder Observatory so the skies are VERY dark at night and you can see the milky way with the naked eye. Probably only reasonable space for two MH's and we parked alongside the small river adjacent and spent a very quiet night there. We were offered a hookup on arrival but didn't really need it. Would recommend if staying in the area and there are plenty of walking and MTB trails in the area.
