Its a public carpark and we had to take up 2 spaces which is OK outside paying hours, we only needed an overnight with an early start for the ferry. However there was a motorhome and a caravan in the carpark already with chairs, generator and kids toys outside, also 4 or 5 youths sitting on the wall around the carpark. We didn’t feel comfortable with this and so moved on to our usual overnight stop on Marine parade.

Good overnight stop for ferry. Indian, Chinese and fish& chips close by. Would have been a peaceful evening if some inconsiderate £&@?) hadn’t arrived and fired up a generator which stayed on until just before midnight. Only half mile to the docks.

Handy overnight before the ferry, pick your slot for one that is level. Good chippy across the road (Park St) and there is a big Morrison's & farmfoods/petfood/Asda up the way out of town if you need to stock up. Very quiet when we were there.

This is Dover councils preferred place for motorhomes to stay overnight rather than Marine Parade. Large car park with plenty of space and free from 5pm until 9am the following day. 2 other vans staying over. Would have been great but it was Saturday night and quite a lot of noise and cars in the car park. We felt vulnerable but maybe we were just unlucky. 10 mins drive to ferry terminal.

Ideal free stopover for ferry we arrived on Sunday evening and left before 7am so was free. Walked into town and had a drink in Weatherspoons and had a lovely takeaway curry from the Indian restaurant just across from the exit from the carpark to the town. There were 5 other vans parked up.

Large flat car park. No overnight charges. Can not occupy more than two spaces or you might get a ticket. You must stay within the space lines. Noisy from local boy racers. But still good for pre ferry stop over.

Just a carpark in town great for the ferries if you need an overnight stopover. Fine view of the castle but pretty barren apart from that. Town 5 mins walk.

Very handy for ferries. We parked over two bays and bought one ticket the following morning at 9 am. The parking warden arrived, looked at the ticket and was happy. He wasn't bothered about two tickets for two bays. He did check that the other vans present were leaving. The seagulls arrive en masse just before dawn and the noise they make is deafening. There were hundreds of them. The toilets are about 150m away and close at 5.30 pm.

Authorised motor home parking. No designated MH spots but you can use 2 normal bays at a time if necessary. Free from 5pm to 9am. Although a car park, it actually has a decent view of the castle. Seagulls are rowdy during daylight hours. The town is a bit run down and although there are plenty of bars, take always and convenience stores, we didn't fancy leaving the van unattended for too long. Ideal for early morning ferry so my ratings reflect that.

Just a town car park, but good for overnighting for ferry. Cheaper for campervans - £1.10 an hour, £8.25 for 5 hours plus, and free from 17.00 to 09.00. Nearby toilets.

Public car park. Ideal for a free overnighter for an early morning ferry. Arrive after 6pm and park up in designated spaces. Security floodlit at night. Located close to the police station and Council Parking Offices. Leave by 9am for no cost. Easy access to takeaways and a stroll along the seafront before bed. Public toilets but no showers or fresh water or electricity.
