Ruby bay is only half an hour from home but feels miles away from suburbia. Can get a little busy during the day with cars and is a big favorite with cyclists and walkers. Come evening everything quietens down and it's not long before you feel you have the place to yourself. Short walk to the pubs if you want a little wander. There are toilets but they are closed overnight.

Lovely location but if you want peace and solitude maybe not the best. Very busy even mid week September but does quieten down at night. Worthwhile checking the forecast as it is exposed and hence windy. Toilets only open in the afternoon.

Beautiful area to stopover but mega busy during the day. Toilets at parking area is disabled (radar key) only but locked after 4pm. Other toilets at harbour open 8-4pm. The car parks and Fife Coastal trail paths are maintained by a trust and there is an honesty box at the sign between the upper and lower car parks for maintenance. Also, there is a recycling point in the upper car park.

The best motorhome spot in Scotland! arrived late, after dark, but a few vans there to highlight the place. woke up to a wonderful view. near some bottle banks so a bit noisy from locals, and lots of dog walkers. 2 car parks, the top one states no motorhomes but we didn't spot this in the dark and there were 2 there already. loos on the bottom park but locked, unless you have a radar key for the disabled. nice walk along the beach and into the village centre. a great unspoilt village not commercialised at all. best kept secret in Scotland and we did a grand tour over the week. don't tell everyone but if we had longer we'd have stayed another night or 2.

Lovely place for a stopover. Height barrier fitted at the entrance, but not in use at the moment. Chatting to a regular motorhomer to this stopover spot, it seems they are are a recent addition.

A beautiful spot. 2 parking areas , upper and lower. Signs saying no overnight camping or caravans. I wasn’t camping or in a caravan! 3 vans in the upper park. I found a level spot in the lower. Toilets locked.
A very short walk to town and the excellent Ship Inn. Good beer but pricey!
Lots of very lovely dog friendly walks around.

Stayed late Sept, great views, quite night, toilets available daytime. Resident caravan and man tooked away in corner?
No trouble, one other Mho shared with us.
Lovely location, SATNAV may take you too far up coast, when approaching from west turn right in to last road on right to coast. Our satnav took us to the next village ? A gem once found !

Went to this spot May Bank holiday (Scarecrow Festival) and returned last weekend 21st July. It is a fantastic spot, probably helped by the fine weather on both occasions. There is a No Camping sign, but not enforceable demonstrated by the number of Campers and motorhomes, a few tents as well. Worryingly people had left a bin bag full of rubbish next to a bin not in it, it got tampered and scattered. Also, some big caravans had parked. Hope all this doesn’t result in a real ban.

Stayed here for 2 nights - lovely spot but very popular with motor homes & vans. There were even 6 tents on the grass at the upper car park. The toilets are locked at 6pm & opened at around 8.30am. Right on the coastal path for some great walks & the Ship Inn on the seafront. I recommend the Elie Deli on the Main Street for all things edible & they sell beer, wines & spirits. Makes me wonder how long this great spot will remain ‘free’ as there were 12 overnighters & 6 tents on Saturday.

Lovely spot overlooking Ruby bay. Top car park and lower car park. Signage asking for moho/campers to use lower car park.
Public toilets but were locked.

Very quiet and a short walk to The Ship Inn pub for fab food!
There's a donation box at lower car park so please leave a small donation to keep this site moho friendly :)

A very beautiful place. We loved it so much we stayed a 2nd night. Whales and Dolphins can be seen if youre lucky. We had a lovely walk along the coast to St Monan. Lovely harbour bar with cider and cake. Definately go back here again. Was a bit crowded when we left with 14 Mohos.

This location is known and sign posted as Ruby Bay. Signposted on NE side of village.
Barrier at entrance but never known it to be closed.
O overnight parking sign (but no bylaw annotated on it -making it unenforceable).
Fabulous views and walks along coastal path and round village.
The Ship Inn nearby.
Car park busy with walkers and dog walkers.
Public toilets at car park but only open at certain times.
