Absolute superb stopover. We arrived about 5pm and I drove straight onto the lower car park which has fabulous views over the fields. I walked into the pub (which is just a wow factor!!) and asked behing the bar if we were ok to stop overnight. The lovely chap behind the bar said no problem at all as long as you have a meal in the pub. The rest is history. The food was excellent as well as the service and welcome given from all the staff. We had a great chat with the landlady and her daughter and asked if we could book in for breakfast. Morning came and we were treated to a 10/10 full english banquet. This place is a must if your ever near Ripon. Well done and thanks for a wonderfull stay.View all reviews by MazandPaddy
Nice large carpark. Slightly sloping. There is a ramp from upper to lower car park which can be challenging for larger outfit - but we managed well with 8 m long van. Superb welcome & dog friendly.Very little road noise.View all reviews by vivagibbo

Plenty of room but it is January. One other small mh here as well.
Lovely country pub with a warm welcome and excellent food. Limited parking, I squeezed between a car another over nighting camper. We were not asked to pay anything for the stopover but then again we spent a fair amount eating and drinking. This is an ideal place not far from Ripon, Newby Hall, Studley Park and our next days destination Fountains Abbey. It’s also dog friendly which helps us enormously. I would describe the food as being a touch upmarket, plentiful and reasonably priced.View all reviews by mclouis007
Good welcoming staff, great location, nice car park which is mostly flat but slopes towards the far bottom corner. We booked with intent to eat there, but when we booked staff failed to tell us food stopped at 7pm on a Sunday... until we went back at the 'booked' 7.30pm and told there was no food on. No problem as we went into Ripon with local friends. Despite this we urge people to try here, though if your motor home is over 7m long you'd find it very tight to fit in.View all reviews by naughtyrascal
Very friendly welcome from the lady in charge, and we particularly enjoyed the cosy woodburner and sofas. Be prepared for there being a lot of cream in the food!View all reviews by jontywillis
