Group of us stayed here Saturday night, great value for money at £5 each. Enjoyed a nice meal and many drinks. Park on gravel if it's been raining as a few of our group were stuck on the grass. Apart from that could not fault it and will return. Cannot comment on location as the Pub was a meeting place for our group. Outside toilets clean.View all reviews by thecarparks
A group of us stayed for two nights at the end of March. Lovely site, friendly pub and a short downhill walk into the village to another pub and shop. Some hardstanding which is preferable if it's been wet. Didn't eat in the pub so can't comment on the food but it looked nice. £5 each per night. EHU is limited and we didn't have any. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area.View all reviews by 3264blanchard
Had a couple of nights here, £10 per night for 2 adults, good base for walkers, close to Matlock and Bakewell, basic facilities on site, clean and tidy, very nice food in the dog friendly pub, would go againView all reviews by algregory8
I found the first review really useful and it helped set my expectations. We were promised hook up. When we arrived the hard standing area was recommended but it felt too much like a car park and not ideal for dogs or a BBQ. We parked in a space on the field but would have needed a 30m hook up to reach the nearest plug.View all reviews by beth
I don't disagree that the facilities are basic but there were toilets, showers and wash up. I have seen a lot worse and these are very clean.
It surprised me how there were people playing boules and football on the field and there was so much space that they didn't bother us at all.
Food and service is excellent.
Very friendly staff.
For £10 a night (2 adults at £5 each and no charge for a dog) I would recommend and would come again.
Our friends stayed in the pub in a very clean, comfortable spacious room. At £35 each a night (including breakfast) they would also be happy to recommend and come again.
We loved the visit from the ice cream van on Sunday afternoon!
We booked in here because of the hardstanding and Electric hook up as a one night transit point with the intention of eating in the pub.View all reviews by andyshep
Unfortunately the advertised EHU only had 1 free socket and we would have needed a 50m+ cable to access it. The hardstanding doubles as a long term caravan storage, with no separate pitches.
The grass field is lovely, but quite sloping. The facilities are very basic and showers are coin fed (EHU is card fed). For two it's not bad value, if there's more of you, it's a per person charge so with the extras could be poor value.
