£32 for family of 4 so by far the most expensive site of the trip so far. Treat and recharge / empty after 'wild camping' for a few nights. Good facilities.

Very exposed cliff top location. Amazing in the light winds we've experienced so far, but would be dodgy in a blow. Smoo cave in easy walking distance. Zip wire in next bay over (heading East) great fun for all the family.

Rang the day before to book pitch, messaged back to tell us just turn up and pick a spot. Lady came round about 1 hour after we got there for payment. Again fab views. Facilities were good, new family shower block was lovely, which was very useful due to us travelling with our adult special needs son. The dishwashing area was good, shame there was no hot water though. I believe that near the end of the main season that not all the facilities would be available. I would still revisit again, mainly for the views.

Stayed for two nights. Lovely campsite on the beach. Facilities excellent. There is a new shower block which is excellent. There is a pub next door which do bar meals. Spar shop about 5 minute walk. Smoo caves just down the road and Cocoa Mountain all within walking distance. Beautiful beaches nearby.

Best view EVER. You'd think you're in the Med on a nice day. Can be very windy and exposed as you'd expect. More hard standing added this year but small pitches.
Old.communal.showers and separate loos still there but new black up top in construction. Smoo cave a short walk away and worth the visit. Coco mountain cafe nice too. Good little spa and local shop by entrance. Main bar and restaurant dated but OK book evening table if desired.
We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed for two nights, rained both days which is a pity as this is a stunning spot, will be better when the new showers are done as it was a bit cold

Stunning location on the cliff edge with amazing views.
The facilities really let this place down.
I didn't like the communal showers which is something I haven't come across before.
The toilets were in a separate block from the showers too. Neither were heated which was not a good experience when it's blowing a gale and freezing.
There was a Wedding party in the bar which we weren't informed about. We got ready to eat out there and then had to nip to Spar to get something for tea

Brilliant. My sky light blown off in a gale. Owner James immediately took me and my motor home to his home, into watertight barn to escape the deluge for the night. In morning he spent hour or more creating a hatch cover out of timber which served as a fantastic temporary fix (not so temporary- still waiting for new Heki roof light to be fitted). Amazing, generous and totally selfless guy. Cannot praise enough his charity.

Love the place. Parked on pitch 13 it was brilliant, Lady in the reception was extremely pleasant and helpful. Dog friendly with access to the 3 local beaches, dated shower block but functional as was the toilet/washing block. Washing up facility, drive over grey waste, fresh water top up all available all for £20/night with EHU. New const'n going on behind the toilet block, not sure what though. Will definately going again. The atmosphere was so good that everybody was chatting like old friends

Fantastic location with superb views. Friendly staff but the facilities were a bit dated and initially confusing... seperate shower and toilet blocks! Was very busy when we visited and we're told to park on a pitch that wasn't really a pitch bur as only staying one night not a problem. Would definately call again.

Great location, the spar shop up the road is very well stocked and has fresh baguettes & croissants every morning. Public toilets next to spar as campsite ones are shut until they open for the season. if you require ehu or water out of season just ring James and he'll be with you in next to no time (no. on campsite door). Fantastic out of season stopover. Balnakiel Bay around the corner well worth the walk (1 mile) & free no restrictions parking if you drive there

A lovely night with stunning views. We would like to thank the owners for letting guests camp for free off season and I hope that they get lots of trade via word of mouth. Good facilities if you go in season and somewhere to get water, empty your loo and get EHU out of season. Well worth a visit at any time of year just for the views and the beach.

Great location near beautiful beach.
Fabulous beach here, safe for kids and dogs. Very, very windy, never got to sit out. Nice pub close by and super Spar shop close.

Prebooked this site and had a great view until somebody parked directly in front of us having been told just to find a space! No consideration of others and no direction from site staff. On second night when this happened we complained and van was moved! I would expect some planning from site staff as opposed to just getting people in.

Also not impressed with shower block, dated, bit dirty. Only one grey waste water point, constant queues.

This place suffers for being on the NC500 route. Wouldn't stay again.

What a wonderful time we had here..Just can't describe that wow feeling as you pull up and see that awesome view...very informative lady in tourist information office...but feel I must warn people how the weather can change in a few hours. .We were parked right on the top..went to bed then the wind got up .. it was soo strong we thought at one time we were going to be blown over the cliff, you couldn't even open the door to get the screens off to move... the most frightening experience we have ever encountered. .
Yes we would go back because of location, site facilities etc .but would watch weather forcast for "strong winds" or park away from Cliff edge! ! Lol

Great site with wonderful views- Friendly and helpful staff and had no issues- Had one of the cliff top views for our stay which is well worth trying to book in advance.
Short walk down to the beach- If the weather is good this place is excellent, the facilities are ok but a bit dated though

We stayed for one night at Sango Sands after reading the reviews on this website and it did not disappoint! We live just north of Inverness and this was a quick weekend up on the North Coast for us.

There is a shop and fuel available nearby so if you forget anything or need to top up supplies it is easy to do so.

We had pre-booked for a hard standing site with electric hook up and our pitch number was displayed clearly on the reception door and our pitch was marked with our name. Just inside the site is an area for ‘servicing’ with fresh water (hose pipe provided, grey water disposal and waste disposal). There is plenty of room for the largest of motor homes to use these facilities. I filled up with fresh water on entering the site. I used the grey water disposal when we left and this is easy to use as well as you can park over the drain.

We were on pitch number 13, on the edge of the cliff, and the views were simply spectacular. There is no doubt that the journey up to the North Coast is well worth it for the location and setting of the site. The winding single track roads may explain the preponderance of motor homes on the site. Believe me it is well worth the effort.

The shower and toilet blocks are fairly old but are in good clean condition. The showers are easy to work and just need you to push the tap for a supply of nice hot water and if you need more time, just push the tap again. The toilets were also clean and tidy. There were numerous rubbish disposal/recycling sites dotted around.

We only spoke to a site warden one on his patrol around the site when he called for payment. He was cheerful and pleasant. I would definitely call the site friendly they provide great facilities for tent campers and you can even pitch for free during the winter (if you want electric hook up there is a charge and I believe that the toilets are open but the showers unheated I believe). This if a really nice and friendly touch. Also the site is not plastered with posters proclaiming the ‘rules’. You feel that you are trusted to get on with what you are there for – to relax and enjoy the views.

If you are staying at the site then a visit to Smoo Cave is a must and there are spectacular views around every corner.

We will definitely be back again for a longer stay and would highly recommend this site to others.

Well done Sango sands and thanks.
