Went here on Easter Monday and we shared the car park with 4 other motor homes and a couple of cars. Could not believe how quiet it was on the bank holiday. There are no facilities but we had our own so this did not matter, i imagine this would be a great stopover place for the weekend. The A30 is about 2 miles away so handy to stop over for a night.

Lovely quiet spot. Walked around the lake to the Tavern only to find that it is closed . Oh well it was a good walk .

A once idyllic spot, now spoiled by those taking advantage of the quiet location. There are two car parks, the first used to have toilets but these have been closed due to vandalism and unsavoury useage! The second car park is quieter but attracts younger couples/boy racers that can and do spoil the peace, and who also tend to leave litter. These car parks will almost certainly be gated soon or have height barriers fitted because of misuse.

Fabulous location really remote but easy to get to. I watched the sun come up over the lake at 5th, beautiful.

Lovely views, flat surface and would have been perfect had a car not disturbed us by continually driving from spot to spot within the lay-by , presumed either a courting couple or boy racers. Arrived at around midnight and eventually left at about 3.30 am. Unsettled us a bit as we had the bikes on the back and didn't want them disappearing overnight.

This was our third "wild camp." Superb location just off the A30 off our notorious Temple road works. In the middle of nowhere. Had no traffic after 8pm. (March 2017). Views and wildlife were fantastic. This location is on the West side of the the lake, it's definitely worth a tour of the perimeter of the lake, mostly single track, but only met two vehicles this morning. Lot's of passing places.

Be on guard. Bodmin visibility can drop at a moments notice, to as little as two feet. If it does, pull over on one of our lay byes and carry on when the clag lifts.

Arrived early evening and it was already dark , whilst my hubby parked up and got things sorted. I took our dog for a walk to the lake I was amazed to see wild horses and cows drinking freely at the lake: This has to be one of the most beautiful and spectacular and quiet places we have ever stayed. Watching the horses run wild was stunning. When we woke up the next day it is a serene and beautiful place to stop over although the horses had moved on. Ideal quiet place to stay.
