This pub is definitely remote but easy to find as it is just off the road. Lovely cosy feel. Very popular so the car park was quite full when we arrived but thinned out in time for us to move our van to a suitable spot. They charge £2.50 per person to stop overnight.
Food is very good (large portions so make sure you are hungry) and reasonably priced and served from noon until 10pm.
Views are fantastic and panoramic.
No facilities once pub shuts (11pm)so you need to be self sufficient.
Car park is fairly level but some spots benefit from using chocks.

Great stop over, good food and beer. Wifi even worked at the far end of the carpark. Noisy from the road in the morning so left early and made breakfast somewhere quieter

Stopped over on a Saturday night, even though it was extremely busy we found a spot in the carpark which is mostly flat (we didn't bother with ramps). Popped in on arrival to check it was ok to stay as we hadn't called ahead and it wasn't a problem,
just paid the £2.50 per person. Had a meal in the pub, food was excellent and we weren't waiting too long even though it was busy and they had several big parties in. Glorious view to wake up to in the morning, would stay again!

We love having planned and unplanned stopovers here, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them to accommodate you and your family.
Food is always spot on and a nice choice menu.
Breathtaking scenery is a bonus to get up for an outdoor breakfast enclosed from the Roadside for the little ones to run about.
This is a must for the motorhomers

Our plan was to stop for a quick drink, admire the view then head to Helmsley. But once inside the pub we saw and smelt the food and decided to stay the night! At £2.50 per person it’s fine. We made the most of the pub WiFi and had a peaceful night.

Very friendly, great food, great beer, great walking, great views. This is a fantastic pub stopover, highly recommended. We stayed one night and most of the following day while we went for a walk around Rosedale. £2.50 per person per night, relatively flat car park. Free Wifi at the pub.

The food portions are huge and the menu is great.

Stayed a night here and had a meal from inside the pub, although it's more like a restaurant environment inside. It's in the middle of the moors, nearest village is miles away so very quiet. Food highly recommended. Will be back.

Cracking pub on top of the moors. Normally very cold and windy! so beware.
Farmers size meals so be hungry. Amazing beer,

This large car park takes any sized motor home and I'm told there's no need to book. It's £2.50 per person, and this is one of the best pubs I have ever seen. Many nook and crannys' great cellar for real ale, ciders and lagers. The menu is great, and food is obviously cooked on the premises. The chips are triple cooked or something....not to be missed! This place is a gem in the middle of nowhere. Go today!
