Stayed overnight 3rd Nov 2020. Last opportunity before lockdown v2. Yes it's a bit tight and muddy, but everyone was very welcoming and the food in the pub is very good. We are 7m and had no problem. Easy enough out of season but could be difficult at busier times. We left the moho in the CP during the day took the bus to Okehampton and walked back along the West Devon Way. 10 miles. Great day. Check out Lydford Castle on the Legendary Dartmoor website. Not a nice place.

Whilst Lydford and surrounding area has a lot to offer, the parking at Castle Inn was a little tight even for my 6m boxer....with the limited space shared between footpath, bridleway, jumbo waste bin, staff/trade suppliers.....and the ground itself was "undrained" grass earth and mud....however this was between Xmas and new year....and subsequently difficult to I didn't ! .....Also found out that waste collection was imminent so other arrangements prevailed. Still used the pub for refreshment, which had more open space than the parking pitch (joke).....much if Lydford gorge subject to limited access tho N.T. Indicated it was open, area looks to be ideal for cycling /cycleways......As I didn't actually use the Castle inn m.h.parking I'm not going to ratetho it seems you have to ignore rating figures
