What a great stopover. Lovely warm welcome from a friendly landlord. Good level hard pitch, EHU available [Not used] for £5, Toilets open all night and facilities for waste disposal including CDP also available. The pub is old fashioned, warm and friendly with great beer. Was there on a Tuesday, when the restaurant is closed but Pizza was available, or the landlord was happy to arrange a takeaway delivery. I went for the Pizza which was very good. Highly recommended stopover.

We stayed here on a Friday evening having booked by phone at 11am that morning. We were approached by the landlord Phil a few minutes after pulling up. He and all of his staff are very efficient friendly people and they all made us feel welcome. We didn’t use any power but it was available. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. 1 pint of beer, 1 large glass of wine, 1 starter, 2 mains and 2 puddings came to £37. We really enjoyed the food and hospitality. I used to work in the pub trade and Phil is a really attentive host. We had a good nights rest. I recommend the Stratton Arms as a great place to stay.

Our second stay here, all the facilities you want, ideal location on route between M40 and M1. Phil is very welcoming, helpful and works hard to ensure us and all motorhomers were looked after, and his wife works equally hard to feed everyone - especially good are the home made vegetarian dishes! On top of that good real ales, and then having breakfast whilst watching the rugby was a great bonus.

Phil the Landlord is indeed very attentive to your needs. Phoned ahead, no problem stopping for as long as required, EHU included (£5). Another MH was already parked also with EHU. Pitch a little sloping, so used levelers.

Water & Toilets available 24/7.

Food & Drink prices are reasonable. BUT, don't expect Michelin Star Cuisine. It's very much an home cooked affair. Vegan option: Linda McCartney Sausages, Chips (from frozen) + Salad or Peas or Beans, in addition to vegetarian options or regular menu plus specials board. Tasty and presented well enough though.

Very much a nice down to earth, homely interior, frequented by locals. No cellular signal! Free WiFi in pub.

A peaceful night.

Fantanstic stopover.
Parking on tarmac carpark was already full so we stayed in the field park. Level.
Friendly landlord came out to point us in the right direction.
Food was nice and fair priced.
Close to Silverstone and Stowe.
Will use again.

Stayed for one night last weekend and was amazed to find such a lovely place in a pretty village just off the A43! Smallish and very busy car park and Phil was very friendly and helpful and has plans to extend the motorhome parking into the garden. Pub was small and cosy, food was excellent. Brilliant stopover which we will definitely visit again.

Excellent. Arrived at 1.45pm expecting to have missed Sunday lunch, Phil the host checked with the kitchen, no problem. We feasted on a super roast, choice of lamb or chicken, washed down with wine and very good beer. Very popular pub with large gardens and play area for children set in a delightful village. Pleasant walks available. Not to be missed. Phil pointed out that it was perfectly acceptable to stay over for a number of nights.

Traditional food at sensible prices & fine real ales. Large garden for use in the summer. Lovely village for a stroll. Must phone ahead to book, this place is popular.

Phil and Liz are the perfect hosts. This old english pub is a gem on its own, but to have the motorhome parking as well, spot on. With a quick phone call, we booked in for Saturday night and also a table for dinner. The food was very good at a great price.

Parking is on a hard surface. Electric hookup is available for £4. There are toilets and all the normal facilities for a stopover. Met some lovely people from a facebook site and the locals are friendly too. We just bloody loved it!

Phil the landlord is always very welcoming. Best to phone ahead cause it is popular. Lovely little village. Great country pub with reasonably priced pub grub. We’ve stayed 3 times now and would def. go again. Free to stop. EHU for a small charge. Outside loo. Smallish flat hardstanding carpark, usually 3-4 mohos there; large field hehind, but there is slope to enter/exit so might be slippy/muddy in winter.

Phoned at 8.50pm for that evening and landlord, Phil, was extremely helpful. Only charge was for hook up £4. We would have eaten but we were too late so just had a few drinks. Water and disposal available. Flat hard standing pitch in carpark. Perfect for somewhere off the road. Grass pitches down the hill (not sure if with hook up)

Have a great one night stopover at this lovely pub in a small picturesque village. Phoned an hour beforehand and was welcomed in by the owner, Phil. Fresh water and cassette emptying in the outside gents loos. You can park on the upper hardstanding car park or on the grass area below. We had a very nice Thai meal and a couple of drinks which was very reasonable. Would recommend this stop if passing this way. Easier to approach and turn in the gate from the A422 direction.

Excellent stopover. We had book Friday night and the landlord came out to help us into our space. We did not have electric but there are points at £4 a night. We only had drinks in the pub but were given a warm welcome. Rang again on Saturday afternoon after our plans changed and were made welcome along with 5 other motorhomes. Best to ring and book as the car park is not large and the grass field only used in the summer.

Stayed for 1 night before the Easter weekend with 2 other campervans. I'd pre booked a table when we left home. No problem at all fitting us in (7 adults). Lovely pub, owners very friendly and helpful. Food was great, options for gluten free which was a huge bonus for me. There is hook up be we didn't need it. Had a great evening. Definitely would go back again.

Brilliant stop! So good to be made welcome, and great surroundings. We arrived after food had finished for the day, so never got to sample the delights of the meals. Phil and his wife made us very welcome. Friendly pub with hearty home cooked food. Real ales and wine by the glass
We paid a small fee for EHU and joined them in a meal one of the evenings which is not obligatory but we were wanting a meal anyway. The area is a quaint village in Turweston with nice walks for dogs. Did I say the pub is also dog friendly? Phil will get anything from small campers to massive RV's on his land with a little manoeuvring help from same
Toilets open all of the time. Play area for the children. It's got everything really.

Lovely pub and the landlord is very friendly. There is space for about 4 motorhomes. EHU is available for extra cost. There is a also a fresh water tap you can use but you cannot get very close to it and our 15m hose was stretched to use it. You can empty toilet in the gents which is an old and rather damp outside toilet.

Only downside is that the grounds of the pub are rather untidy. There's loads of old wood, broken childrens toys, swings, etc all dumped around the place and then hidden with weeds. But don't let that put you off.

Food is well priced and good.

The village is small and roads narrow.

Great stopover, we live about 30 mins from the Stratton Arms and chose here to have a couple of nights away with friends who also have a motorhome. Phil the landlord was a superb host, he came out to greet us and made sure we were safely parked, one of the pubs regulars needed to move his work van to get us in and I thought he wouldn't be too happy but even he was happy to accommodate. We enjoyed two meals here over the weekend and sample a real ale or two! All good. Phil even came out on the Sunday morning to wave us off and wish us a safe journey. I wish him well in his business, if only more landlords were as enlightened as Phil.

I can't believe there is only one review on here for this place. This is a traditional pub which is well run and what you would expect from a country hostelry. Phil is a great guy and clearly enjoys having Motorhomes come and stay. Pitches are level ish and firm ground. We did not need any other facilities apart from the fine ales being served. We will be back (if there's space after these good reviews) to sample the food.

Stayed twice and will return again. The food is great and reasonably priced, Phil, the landlord, is most accommodating and helpful. EHU is available for a small charge. There is a farm shop just up the road (5 min walk) and there are lots of walks in the area. Very handy for Silverstone and visits to Brackley. Lovely location with an extensive garden, live music some nights too (not experienced).

Stayed here as a midway stopover whilst heading to Dover and glad we decided to do so. The Stratton Arms pub is in a small village of cotswold stone cottages and the pub itself is built of similar construction. We had checked with the owner (Phil) before arriving to make sure there was space and Phil was there to greet us when we arrived. Although the car park looks quite small on streetview, there is space for large MHs and even if the car park is full, there is a large grass field at the back of the car park which is used for overflow parking. Phil is very accommodating and nothing appears to be too much trouble, even though there was no food being served on the Weds night we stopped, he arranged for a takeaway to be delivered and even let us eat it in the pub also providing hot plates and cutlery etc - what more could you ask? The pub is also dog friendly which makes a refreshing change. We met up with a lovely couple who are just starting to go full time in an ancient Hymer and spent the night chatting about their forthcoming adventures.
We had a pleasant nights sleep with virtually no passing traffic in the night.
There are a couple or electric hookups available and you can empty toilet cassette in the outside gents toilets. There is a good free wifi connection (good enough for Skype etc) but phone signal is poor (vodafone)
All in all I would highly recommend this stopover and Phil is a shining example of a landlord who embraces the benefits of accommodating the motorhome traveller.
