Great spot but easy to miss in the dark.View all reviews by SuenTrev
We turned round in Kirkcolm and came back to it - we were rewarded with a gorgeous view next morning.
Interesting history so we were surprised that it is not signed from the road.
Had a great stop over here, excellent views and a nice walk with dog to WW2 seaplane watch shelter, quiet overnight and would definitely stay again.View all reviews by tribute680
As described in previous reviews, quiet apart from dog walkers, no facilities close, exposed on windy nights, great views over the Loch to Stranraer and round to Cairnryan.View all reviews by mountain3000
Stayed last night. Almost flat concrete. Exposed to the south easterley winds but nice views. Occasional passing cars and a few dog walkers. Its an old raf base used in ww2 as a base for sunderland and catalina fying boats. There are still some remains of old buildings down the coast and an intact lookout post on the headland. A nice touch also is free operational telescopes on the headland to watch the nesting birds or the ferries across the water. 20 mins drive to the ferry terminal.View all reviews by gordonn
Great spot halfway down the track and very peaceful. No facilitiesView all reviews by SharonC38
We stayed on the flat, concrete carpark although there is a small space for a couple of vehicles 100m or so down the gravel track. Great views across the loch to the ferry terminals and back towards Stranraer. Great walk to the end of the track. Lots of dog walkers. No services except a rubbish bin. A few cars and tractors go along the road, but noise not an issue.View all reviews by Smurf60
Concrete parking. Mostly level although we parked at the top of the slipway for a great view....checking tide heights first! Set back off a reaonably quiet road very little traffic. Come prepared no shop or pub nearby. Bin available. Well used by dog walkers but otherwise very quiet. Wonderful for bird watching....we saw well over 20 species on our short overnight stay. Short section of the beach was shut due to nesting birds but they are putting in a new path further back, so good for longer walks. Good beach for shells and driftwood collecting. Interesting wartime structures and information. Lovely views back to Stranraer and across to the ferry terminal. Could be a bit exposed if windy.View all reviews by TheSherratts
Stayed here as no overnight parking Stranraer & only few miles out. Flat, tarmac area, although near road does quieten off for night.. Popular, with regular dog walkers to end of rough track with WW2 viewing shelter with Ferry terminals opposite.View all reviews by inca
