This site is well located...tge facilities are poor and I have to say the customer service is awful in fact no customer service what so ever not friendly at all.Its a real pity because this site with some TLC and change the staff would be a really nice site ...but it is very over priced and then the extras on top....i think the prices and poor customer service are tgere to deter businessView all reviews by wayne0207
Not a very friendly welcome, even though it was £24 pn for a February stay, given a leaflet for all do's and don't, more don'ts than do's and all additional costs. i.e. £8 per extra adult £3 per child, charges for day visitors etc. 3 showers, 1 toilet open and the showers were pathetic. This site is over priced, poorly run and being in working boatyard would not recommend itView all reviews by carol12
After much deliberation 3 outfits stayed here this weekend. It is a great little site that needs a bit more TLC and perhaps a course on customer relations from the warden.View all reviews by iainshani
It is ideally located for trips into WSM or just touring the local area on foot or by bike.
there are a couple of bars nearby and café at the entrance.
Gem of a place, on bike route 33, close to beach/shop & pub. Showers/toilets clean and warm.View all reviews by simonk1970
Superb location. Lovely views. The bus top was just outside that takes you into town. Good pub within 5 minutes walk. Superb walks around the site. Costs £5 one way for a taxi if you are eating in the centre of Weston. Great cafe if you want a breakfast. Only downside some guests wash their dogs in the showers, it clearly says no dogs.View all reviews by lainey54
This is one of our favourite site beautiful view over the lake and a short walk to Weston super mare to our favourite BBQ place Bare GrillesView all reviews by rickbrit
We have been here twice the pitches are based around a small lake both hard standing and grass very quiet site could be miles from anywhere based on the edge of the village of Uphill shops and pubs only a short walk awayView all reviews by alansueharvey
Pleasant walks from the site and an easy stroll into Weston . Showers and toilets on site pretty good cafe on the approach road to the site very good would come again
A promising forecast for good weather prompted a quick weekend away so I rang to check for availability and phone was answered efficiently but I felt rather abruptly. I was informed there were spaces available but individual pitches cannot be reserved - was hoping to reserve a hard standing pitch. The approach to the site is through the village of uphill and left turn into a boat yard. The site has 9 hard standing pitches and 19 grass pitches all of which overlook the central lake/pond. There was plenty of choice of pitches and in the end it wasn't necessary to use a hard standing pitch and we settled for a grass pitch, the ground was firm and whilst not sloping was slightly uneven but soon sorted with levelling blocks.View all reviews by admin
There is a portacabin block at the edge of the lake with toilets and dish washing facilities plus a separate shower block in the reception building which requires a code for access, there is also a drive over service point near the reception block. Poor mobile data reception on vodafone and no wifi around the lake but some BT Wifi available around the reception area - reminds me I must get a wifi booster!
Not part of the campsite, but near the entrance, is a cafe where breakfast can be obtained and was proving popular.
The 'Mendip Way' long distance path starts outside the campsite and runs 80km all the way to Froome, but if that's too far, there are still some lovely walks in the area and a walk up to St Nicholas church which dates back to 1159, at the top of the hill is a must to get the best vistas of the surrounding area.
Approx 300m down the road, exiting left from the site, is Uphill beach where you can park directly on the sand - even with a heavy MH. The beach is also dog friendly unlike the beaches in Weston-super-mare which are a further 20min walk along the beach.
Overall a lovely site that although close to the "Kiss me Quick" attractions of Weston is a million miles away in terms of peace and tranquility.
