A very relaxed campsite. Basic facilities, but very well kept. Attracts a large range of campers - young and old. Live and let live vibe. Campfires allowed. Excellent location for walking. Pub very close. No need to book - just turn up and the warden will collect your money at some point. £5 per person per night.

Just arrived back from this site. Basic, peaceful, lovely site. 4 toilets, cleaned daily. Outdoor sinks with cold water only. Elsan disposal and fresh water on site. Not many flat areas to pitch (no designated pitches so just go where you want) so chocks useful. At £5 pppn very good value and no site wardens checking up on you every hour!
Beautiful area to walk and cycle. Manifold Inn also welcoming and does a great pint.

Been here twice in a month now. Perfect Peak District location. Beautiful views. 20 mins drive from Buxton. Lots of walks and cycle tracks. The field is 2 mins walk behind the Manifold Pub. The field is on a slant with a few flat areas. Chocks would be handy. The toilet block has 2 ladies and 1 gents. There is water tap and washing up sink. Dogs are allowef on leads. Fires off the ground are allowed. By the sink are free to use metal bases to put your fire or bbq on. Pitch where you. £5 each.

First time we ventured out in our 7m bessicar. Must have been at least 15 times in various vans over past 10 years. Basic, water & toilets but no showers or EU. Pub serving great food 2 minutes away, if you want a walk to Hartington the Devonshire has great homemade food.

Quick weekend get away after a week of fine late summer weather sees us head to the Peak District and to Hulme End Farm.
The site is a large field with few flat areas and despite the spell of fine weather the ground was still quite so soft, so much so we got stuck and had to be pulled out by the owners tractor. Facilities are limited with a small toilet block (no showers) and a toilet disposal point, no hookups and no provision to drain waste tanks, but this is all reflected in the cost of just £4.50 per person. The site has a relaxed feel with no designated pitches and no prebooking required but can result in some random parking and pitching.
The site is popular with DoE groups and walkers and during the summer I would imagine the site to be very popular and facilities would be stretched if you needed them.

The Manifold Inn is just 50 yards down the road and serves reasonable pub food.
Also ideally located for an easy ride along the 8.5 mile Manifold Way, a flat cycle trail along a disused railway track.
We would return if staying in the area again.
