Great site.....you wouldn't think you're next to a busy A road! Best pitch for views.....14. Charge to extend day to 5pm was £5 as site quiet. Less than 1/4 mile to the Tissington Trail. Easy access to other paths that lead to the wider network..

Nice and friendly whilst booking in. Lovely views over the countryside. Clean and modern toilet / shower block. Hard standing gravel pitches. Bit expensive at £25 per night but doesnt seem to stop people as 15 other units on a cold March Friday night. Plenty of water points, chemical toilet drop but no where to empty grey waste

Really friendly welcome and provided with plenty of useful information. Everything you could need except grey water disposal. Pub serves tasty food and has a decent selection of real ale. Access to High Peak Trail from footpath opposite the site a little tricky but Parslay Hay nearby. Great views from the site. Would definitely return.

Lovely site with superb facilities. Modern heated toilet and showers, good pot washing area. Mains hook and taps by every pitch. The pub itself is very welcoming and serves excellent food. Good winter site as they have hardstanding. Only minor thing I could pull it up on is perhaps it's a little on the pricey side at £25 per night with electric and a dog.

First week of January and we had the site to ourselves. Lovely site with wonderful views and hardstandings. Spotlessly clean toilet block. Just a short walk through field opposite and onto the High Peak trail which the dog loved. Never ate in the pub but went in for a pint ( very nice too) Staff were friendly and welcoming - would visit again.

Stunning views, lovely pub, very well kept site. Easy access to High Peak trail for walking but involves a challenging stile, cyclists need to go a few hundred yards towards the quarry, along the busy main road, to get access to the trail.
The site is away from the road but you can still hear the traffic, only quietly, which wasn't an issue for us, but some may want to know.
The info symbols suggest that they can accommodate all sizes of van but folk with a large van may struggle in my opinion, unless you park on grass. Ours is 7m, 8m with the bike rack and we just fitted on the hardstanding given to us as we had a 'big' van.
I'm sure we'll be going back a few times to The Duke of York!

This is a lovely place to camp, they have hard standing and grass pitches with electric and water. The toilets and showers are clean and well looked after with dishwashing sinks under cover. The pub is fantastic with good food and friendly staff. Lots of good walks along the old railway and when the weather is kind fantastic views. The price is a bit on the high side.
