Great spot for a couple of days. Cafe on site, walk to Devizes and canal walk down the locks. picnic possible on the grass with great views.?No facilites but well worth the fee that you pay at the cafe and that goes to the canal trust. Good on the canal trust for allowing overnight parking!

Stayed for 4 nights of peace and quiet, got there quite late, walked up to the black horse who also do overnight, was worried about getting a ticket but when I went to pay at the cafe next morning I was assured it was a voluntary contribution to the upkeep of the locks. So don't worry if you're late but do contribute.

portaloo on the car park. it was spotless clean when I had a look inside.

We didn't actually stay here overnight but checked it out for our next visit. Lovely peaceful location. As said previous close by to the Black Horse where they serve delicious meals & very friendly pub. Beautiful walks by the canal side.

Great little spot, quiet and a pub just up the road. Loveky views and perfect for a overniggt stop off. As a word of warning, there are a fee speed humps that need to be taken a crawling pace. ????

Lovely. We are the the only ones here. The wind is howling, it’s raining and we have parked sideways to get a full view of the locks ( we will move in the morning). Paid £10 for two nights although we are disabled (please pay if you can - the money goes to the maintenance of the locks and canals). I have to admit, it was a bit of a bugger to find but I got there in the end. Cafe to pay is a bit of a trek for those with limited mobility.

Arrived at about 5.30pm, car park had 1 other MH and a few cars. Level carpark, good views of locks. Walked up to pub, The Blackhorse, food ok, cheap, right on edge of canal. Cafe was closed, so unable to pay for the night, doesnot open untill 10.30 am. Very peaceful at night, would use again.

Stayed here on a Saturday night. Arrived about 2pm. Level Car park was busy but space to park up. By 6pm all cars gone except a few. So then chose. A good spot in corner with excellent view through the trees. From 8pm onwards just us and one more Moho there until next day.
Paid £8 to cafe for the night. Tranquil ,lovely walks , pub 10 mins walk up the canal side.

No facilities except wate bins. Would definitely recommend and will be returning ourselves.

The cafe which took carpark payment confirmed that overnight parking is permitted. We arrived on a Sunday evening and was told that it didn’t matter what time we left the next morning. Lovely spot but I can hear freeway. Always great to have a moho neighbour. No water, no toilets.

Stayed 24 hours. Nice walk alongside locks although they were under repair whilst we were there so no barges going through. Good viewsEasy walk (with a wheelchair)in to town where there are plenty of pubs to eat. Good number of shops. No cost to park for Blue badge holders. No facilities, but the cafe is very close for a drink and a snack. There is a sign saying thieves operate in this area but we found no evidence of this. It was quiet at night whilst we were there with friends in two other van

Enjoyed this stopover a lot. Great spot alongside the spectacular Caen locks flight. Carpark is level and tarmacked, pay at the small cafe. The town is closeby and an easy, pleasant walk alongside the canal. Good views over the newly planted Jubilee wood. Recommend a stroll to the bottom of the locks to take in the view of the flight from there.

What a great place. I paid the £10 for 72 hours and have really enjoyed exploring the area on foot. I’ll be back!

My sat nav recognised the place name and brought me straight to the car park.

We stayed here overnight in October and were the only motorhome staying overnight. Charge for one night is £8 which is payable at the cafe. Although there are no facilities such as fresh water or waste disposal facilities it is a good spot for an overnight stay.

I endorse all the other comments. As noted, no problem staying overnight. Apparently the sign is out of date. Also note the comment about the postcode not working in a sat nav. In fact, neither did the coordinates given when coming from the east. I suggest N51.35359 W2.01460 which will take you to the entrance at the end of Marsh Lane. Otherwise you get to meet the nice guys in the workshop who will redirect you..

Visited here on way to Bath, only stayed a couple of hours but confirmed with cafe staff that overnighting in the car park is permitted. If travelling there don't use the postcode it sends you 100 yds beyond where you need to be in the water company car park!! Great place to visit and see working locks

We have stayed here for two nights in a row. Lovely and quiet almost like an Aire without facilities. There were a couple of others in the car park with us including a Spanish unit. Lots of space at night although it does get busy during the day so maybe worth repositioning during the day. Pay in the little cafe and they note your details. Reading the small print on the payment board it states no overnight parking, although if your paying for 24 / 72 hours I'm not sure how or if they would bother enforcing it. The board has the word 'may' on it a lot. I think they 'may' do something about if if it became a problem. 5 minute walk into town. Lovely stop we will be back.

Great location, does get busy so space limited for my unit 7.5mtrs. We found a space though and later on loads became free. We went to the shop to pay and told them we would be there overnight they were fine. Nice walk/cycle into Devizes. You could even cycle to Bath the other way if you are energetic.

Quiet when we arrived in the afternoon, and we were the only overnighters. Woke up to find the place crowded with cars and families. Probably best to pitch in a corner plot, leaving lots of room for cars.Great little café and super canalside walks. Devizes an interesting town to explore, especially the Wadworth Brewery and its horsedrawn delivery drays.

Large level car park next to Caen Locks. A few minutes walk to a lovely pub , the Black Horse. The sign in the car park said to pay at the cafe and all proceeds help the Canal and river trust. The cafe sadly was closed and there was no honesty box available. On our next visit we will be paying more as this is such a lovely spot to stopover. There was a couple of cars that pulled in during the evening by both had left by 11pm so after that all was quiet. Saturday morning we took a stroll along the canal watching the barges through the succession of locks.
